The Opportunity
We are seeking a seasoned and strategic Master Planner, Advanced Planning Systems βto facilitate in the management, implementation, and continual improvement of the planning processes and enabling tools, and to ensure that functional leaders, managers, and team members are aligned on supply plan execution. Reporting to the Senior Manager, Supply Planning, this role provides highly specialized subject matter expertise across one or more Master Planning areas, partnering cross-functionally to drive sales and operations planning decisions and deliver against key financial targets.
The Master Planner develops and maintains detailed production and material requirement plans for core SKUs and new product innovation, leads capacity and constraint-based planning. The role also serves as a business super user and subject matter expert for planning systems, supporting users, troubleshooting planning issues, and identifying opportunities for system and process improvements to enhance planning capabilities.
The ideal candidate combines strong master planning expertise with advanced analytical and systems capabilities. They will be highly proficient in Excel and able to independently develop and maintain supporting planning tools, models, reports, and analyses. They will have hands-on experience with advanced planning applications such as Kinaxis, Demantra, i2, or similar platforms, with the ability to understand how planning parameters, master data, and system logic influence planning outputs. The successful candidate is technically strong, highly detail-oriented, and able to operate effectively in complex, rapidly evolving situations.
Responsibilities
Provide highly specialized subject matter expertise and leadership (by initiative) in one of the following Master Planning areas: Whole Cannabis Flower, Pre-Rolled Cannabis, Ingested Cannabis Extracts, Inhaled Cannabis Extracts, and/or Topical Cannabis Extracts
Develop and maintain executable master production schedules using finite-capacity, material-constrained, and resource-constrained planning principles, including production sequencing, lot sizing, changeovers, lead times, and scheduling priorities.
Coordinate and actively manage cross-functional activities required to execute the master schedule, including material readiness, QA/QC release, production priorities, inventory availability, warehousing, and other operational dependencies.
Provide direction and leadership with capacity planning and constraint-based planning
Maintain total portfolio optimization by coordinating the disposition of all finished goods and intermediates along the value chain, with clear impacts on the financial KPIs of the firm
Assist in developing strategies for total-lifecycle management of stock keeping units
Serve as the planning systems super user and business subject matter expert, supporting planners and other functional users in the effective use of advanced planning applications.
Maintain and optimize planning parameters, master data, policies, calendars, and other system inputs that influence planning outputs.
Develop and maintain advanced Excel-based planning tools, models, reports, and analytical solutions to supplement planning systems and address business requirements.
Leverage Excel, Power Query, and other analytical tools to consolidate, transform, validate, and analyze planning data.
Some travel to head office or on-site meetings may be required on an ad hoc basis

Experience
Post-secondary education in supply chain management or a related field
Knowledge and experience in IBP and/or Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP)
Knowledge in business, strong technical skills, expertise in supply chain management, and experience in supply chain planning
Experience working and collaborating with demand and supply-side professionals as well as individuals from supporting functional areas
Communication skills that enable change, problem resolution, mediation, and the ability to successfully work in a team environment
Highly organized and detail-oriented, with the ability to manage multiple concurrent activities, dependencies, priorities, and deadlines while maintaining accuracy and follow-through.
Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, with the ability to independently develop and maintain planning tools, models, reports, dashboards, and analytical solutions.
Strong experience working with large datasets and using tools such as Power Query, PivotTables, advanced formulas, and data manipulation techniques to support planning decisions.
Hands-on experience with enterprise planning applications such as Kinaxis, Demantra, i2, SAP APO/IBP, Oracle, or similar planning systems.
Commit to acquiring or already hold one or both of the APICS Certifications: Certified in Production and Inventory Management (CPIM) and/or Certified Supply Chain Professional (CSCP)
Other Details
This is a full-time remote position based in Ontario, with locations including Toronto, Ottawa, and Smiths Falls, ON.

Salary - $80,000
