Temporary HR Support (Part-Time, Remote)


Location: Remote (Eastern Time preferred; Central Time acceptable)
Schedule: Monday-Friday, 5 hours per day during core business hours (e.g., 9:00 AM-2:00 PM or 10:00 AM-3:00 PM)
Anticipated Start Date: September 28, 2026
Assignment Duration: Through early March 2027

About the Opportunity

Mitsui Chemicals America (MCA) is seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Temporary HR Support Professional to join our Human Resources team. This part-time remote role provides hands-on support across a wide range of HR functions, including employee administration, payroll, benefits, recruitment, onboarding, HR systems, reporting, and employee programs.

This is an excellent opportunity for an HR professional who enjoys variety, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and takes pride in delivering accurate, high-quality work.

What You'll Do

  • Support day-to-day HR operations and employee administration activities
  • Prepare and maintain reports, spreadsheets, tracking logs, and HR records
  • Assist with payroll administration, payroll review support, and timekeeping communications
  • Support benefits administration activities, including 401(k), HSA, and Open Enrollment tracking
  • Process HR transactions and maintain employee data in HRIS platforms such as ADP and Workday
  • Coordinate recruiting activities, including resume screening, interview scheduling, candidate communications, background checks, and agency interactions
  • Assist with onboarding activities and new hire training coordination
  • Process invoices and support monthly expense administration
  • Maintain electronic personnel files and assist with audit preparation
  • Update SharePoint content, employee communications, and recognition programs
  • Support performance management processes through reporting and tracking
  • Respond to employee inquiries and assist with routine HR support requests

Qualifications

  • 1-2 years of experience in Human Resources, Payroll, HR Administration, Compliance, or a related business function
  • Experience working in a corporate environment preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office 365, including Excel, Outlook, Word, and Teams
  • Experience with HRIS platforms such as ADP, Workday, or similar systems preferred
  • Strong organizational, data entry, reporting, and administrative skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to meet deadlines with minimal supervision
