Overview:
As a Sales Engineer for Panasonic Professional Video & Audio Systems (PAVNA), you will support the Sales Team in selling products and solutions using a consultative sales approach, leading technical engagements from pre-sales through post-sales support. You will understand and effectively communicate the technical aspects and benefits of Panasonic's KAIROS IP live production system, PTZ cameras, studio cameras, professional audio solutions, and associated software and services, while gathering customer requirements, recommending appropriate Panasonic and third-party products and solutions, and performing system design tasks.
In this role, you will provide on-site engineering services such as product configuration, adjustment, integration, and commissioning, and will train the PAVNA sales team, integrators, and end customers on PAVNA products and solutions. You will also collaborate closely with PAVNA Product Engineering and Service teams, sharing knowledge and experience across the organization to troubleshoot customer product and application issues.

Responsibilities:
Pre-Sales and Technical Proposal
- Conduct technical pre-sales visits with customers, partners, and sales managers on the KAIROS IP live production system, PTZ cameras, studio cameras, professional audio solutions, and associated software and services
- Perform product demonstrations and shoot-outs
- Create customer system designs and layouts for KAIROS IP live production system, PTZ camera, studio camera, professional audio solution, and associated software and service installations
- Support Panasonic and partner sales events, trade shows, and seminars
- Train the sales team on products, solutions, and technologies
Post-Sales and Customer Support
- Manage and resolve assigned product and solution performance and operation issues in a timely manner
- Conduct on-site and virtual operation and maintenance training for Panasonic products and solutions
- Provide on-site paid services for installation support, equipment setup, and commissioning
Product Knowledge and Collaboration
- Continually expand relevant A/V and information technology knowledge through formal training and self-study, with a special focus on the technologies associated with new Panasonic products and solutions
- Maintain expertise and working knowledge of Panasonic and third-party software utilized in Panasonic products and solutions
- Collaborate and share knowledge and experience across the organization, contributing to team-wide best practices even without direct reports
- Participate in mandatory Product and Service meetings with factory product and service teams
Voice of the Customer
- Create, maintain, and foster relationships with the customer base to gather information on customer likes and dislikes, competitor likes and dislikes, and unmet needs through face-to-face meetings, focus groups, support questions, and other channels
- Generate Voice of the Customer reports for use by product managers, planning teams, and development teams in the U.S. and Japan
Qualifications:
Scope
- This is an individual contributor role, with no direct or indirect reports
Education and Experience
- Bachelor's degree in a technical field (Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Broadcast and AV Engineering) or equivalent professional experience
- 7–10 years of professional experience in the professional video, broadcast, and AV industry
- Working knowledge of SMPTE ST 2110 and NDI-based IP live production workflows
- Hands-on design and operational experience with IT and IP networks, security, and products used in the AV industry
- Working knowledge of PTZ cameras, auto-tracking, and streaming workflows
- Hands-on experience with Windows, Mac OS, and Linux

- Utilize active listening, analysis, research, creativity, and decision-making skills to quickly identify and solve customer, sales, and product problems
- Highly motivated individual who is a quick learner, intuitive, and able to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
- Strong, ongoing ability to track fast-changing industry trends and the competitive landscape — one of the most important qualities for this role, directly supporting effective problem-solving
Communications
- Effectively communicate, verbally and in writing, complex technical, project, and sales-related issues to customers, prospects, and PAVNA team members
- Create and deliver effective and persuasive presentations to small and large audiences
- Develop and foster collaborative working relationships with customers, consultants, integrators, partners, and team members, proactively sharing knowledge and experience across the organization even without direct reports
Other Requirements
- Demonstrated ability to work in a dynamic environment with minimal day-to-day supervision
- Ability to travel up to 50% of the time
- Ability to lift and carry a minimum of 40 lbs.

Salary Range:
$105,000-$120,000 + Bonus
