Job description

Job Title: Threat Hunting Consultant
Location: Remote
Job Type: Full-Time
Salary Range: $110,000 – $130,000 Per Annum

Job Description
We are seeking an experienced Threat Hunting Consultant with strong expertise in Microsoft Defender, Splunk, threat hunting, detection engineering, and incident response. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience investigating security threats, developing high-fidelity detections, performing endpoint forensics, and translating threat intelligence into actionable defensive measures.
Must Have Technical/Functional Skills
Extensive hands-on experience with Microsoft Defender for Endpoint (MDE).
Strong experience with Microsoft 365 Defender/XDR security operations.
Advanced knowledge of Kusto Query Language (KQL).
Expert-level Splunk Enterprise Security experience.
Strong SPL skills for threat hunting and correlation.
Experience with Splunk UBA or similar behavioral analytics platforms.
Proven experience conducting hypothesis-driven threat hunts.
Strong knowledge of the MITRE Telecommunication&CK framework and attacker TTPs.
Experience developing high-fidelity detection rules with low false-positive rates.
Hands-on incident response, endpoint forensics, and malware analysis experience.
Knowledge of NIST/SANS incident response frameworks and playbook development.
Strong understanding of Windows internals, processes, and security architecture.
Knowledge of network protocols, traffic analysis, and common attack vectors.
Experience with Active Directory, Azure AD, Kerberos, and NTLM.
Scripting/automation experience with PowerShell and/or Python.
Strong communication, documentation, training, and mentoring skills.
