Why Patients Need You 

The I&I Key Account Director National Lead (KAD National Lead) is responsible for leading and coaching the national I&I Key Account Director organization, with a key focus on executing a patient-first approach while advancing aligned market and brand goals across the U.S./PR business. As the most senior Account Management role in the field, the KAD National Lead will drive national goal progression by leveraging enterprise-wide market knowledge, strategic leadership, and cross-functional influence to coach KAD leaders and teams in developing and executing strategic account plans that are mutually aligned to both Pfizer and the customer. The KAD National Lead will also compliantly provide national guidance and coach KAD colleagues to provide cross-functional leadership with account and customer information to enable collaborative communications that support aligned business imperatives across the Integrated Account Team model. 

Role Responsibilities 

  • Provide national leadership and management of Account Management colleagues, including alignment to brand/market goals, KPIs, and performance management across the U.S./PR business. 

  • Take full accountability for national Account Management personnel issues and act as the final point of escalation for Account Management roles, coordinating with business, PX, and cross-functional leadership as needed. 

  • Lead the consistent execution of business and account priorities nationally with a focus on long- and short-term mutual value opportunities identified with prioritized accounts and aligned with market and brand goals, as well as company and I&I Key Account Management vision. 

  • Lead Account Management roles to execute while leveraging the full account team model and Account/Customer engagement strategies to drive business performance. 

  • Deliver documented capabilities-based coaching to support skill excellence and optimal development across the KAM team. 

  • Manage national budgets and resource allocation for the assigned therapeutic area/account management organization. 

  • Maintain required technical, environmental, and Account Management expertise to respond accurately and compliantly to all questions regarding products, policies, and business-related issues from customers and account management colleagues. 

  • Recruit and select candidates for Account Management positions in compliance with Pfizer requirements, utilizing approved hiring materials. 

  • Partner with cross-functional leaders to develop national therapeutic area goals, strategies, and tactics for the KAD organization. 

Requirements 

  • BA/BS degree required with 12+ years of previous pharmaceutical, biotech, or medical marketing/sales experience. 

  • Experience in Account Management/Key Account Management with at least three years spent in a promoted position with demonstrated leadership of teams. 

  • Previous leadership/supervisory experience and ability to develop and motivate others, lead through change, and deliver on business imperatives required. 

  • Proven track record of performance and meeting organizational goals. 

  • Experience managing diverse teams of colleagues with different grades and responsibilities. 

  • Proven ability to manage performance and develop talent. 

Skills and Knowledge 

  • Strong understanding of the pharmaceutical business and the environmental and business trends impacting the pharmaceutical industry. 

  • Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to analyze and draw appropriate conclusions using approved Account Management metrics and measurements. 

  • Strong communication skills, including the ability to think and communicate with the audience’s needs first. 

  • Excellent facilitation skills.

Candidate demonstrates a breadth of diverse leadership experiences and competencies including the ability to influence and collaborate with peers, develop and coach others, oversee and guide the work of other colleagues to achieve meaningful outcomes, and create business impact.

The annual base salary for this position ranges from $230,900.00 to $384,800.00. In addition, this position is eligible for participation in Pfizer’s Global Performance Plan with a bonus target of 25.0% of the base salary and eligibility to participate in our share based long term incentive program.
