We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for experienced compliance and regulatory professionals with strong expertise in regulatory analysis, licensing and permit review, enforcement processes, investigations, and compliance assessment.

This role focuses on reviewing compliance and regulatory work across realistic professional scenarios. Selected professionals will assess compliance analyses, licensing reviews, eligibility determinations, violation reports, and regulatory recommendations for accuracy, evidentiary quality, regulatory rigour, and overall professional credibility.

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory Compliance Review

  • Evaluate compliance assessments involving laws, regulations, licensing standards, and regulatory requirements
  • Assess whether conclusions accurately reflect applicable requirements and available evidence
  • Identify unsupported findings, missing considerations, and weaknesses in regulatory reasoning
  • Review whether proposed actions are proportionate to identified compliance issues
  • Apply practical judgement grounded in real-world compliance work

Licensing & Permit Review

  • Review scenarios involving licences, permits, certifications, and regulatory eligibility
  • Assess whether applicants or organisations meet applicable requirements
  • Evaluate documentation supporting approval, denial, renewal, or corrective action decisions
  • Identify missing evidence or inconsistencies affecting eligibility determinations
  • Review recommendations for regulatory and procedural soundness

Compliance Investigations

  • Evaluate compliance scenarios involving potential violations or regulatory concerns
  • Review evidence, documentation, and investigative findings
  • Assess whether conclusions are adequately supported by the underlying facts
  • Identify gaps in evidence collection or analysis
  • Evaluate the credibility and completeness of investigative reasoning

Enforcement & Violation Analysis

  • Review violation reports, enforcement findings, and regulatory recommendations
  • Assess whether identified issues justify proposed enforcement actions
  • Evaluate severity, evidence quality, and relevant compliance considerations
  • Identify unsupported or disproportionate enforcement conclusions
  • Review whether findings are documented clearly and consistently

Regulatory Analysis

  • Evaluate interpretation and application of regulatory requirements
  • Review analyses involving conformity with laws, rules, licences, and permits
  • Identify incorrect interpretations, analytical gaps, and unsupported assumptions
  • Assess whether recommendations align with the underlying regulatory framework
  • Distinguish substantive compliance deficiencies from minor procedural issues

Comparative Compliance Evaluation

  • Compare alternative compliance or regulatory responses side by side
  • Assess outputs based on regulatory rigour, evidentiary soundness, and enforcement reasoning
  • Identify meaningful differences between stronger and weaker approaches
  • Determine whether findings and recommendations are professionally defensible
  • Provide clear reasoning supporting evaluation decisions

Structured Evaluation & Feedback

  • Review compliance work products for quality and accuracy
  • Identify substantive regulatory, evidentiary, analytical, and enforcement weaknesses
  • Distinguish material compliance issues from minor drafting concerns
  • Provide concise, evidence-based written feedback
  • Apply evaluation standards consistently across assignments

Ideal Profile

  • 4+ years of relevant professional experience in compliance, regulatory affairs, licensing, regulatory enforcement, or a closely related field
  • Experience as a Compliance Officer, Compliance Analyst, Compliance Manager, License Examiner, Regulatory Affairs Specialist, or similar professional
  • Demonstrated experience examining or investigating conformity with laws, regulations, licences, or permits
  • Experience making or supporting eligibility and compliance determinations
  • Strong ability to evaluate regulatory evidence and document findings
  • Experience preparing compliance, investigation, violation, or enforcement reports
  • Strong understanding of regulatory requirements and enforcement processes
  • Strong written English communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and provide precise professional feedback

Engagement Details

  • Part-time independent contractor engagement
  • Fully remote
  • Availability of 20+ hours per week
  • Immediate start
  • Initial project duration of approximately 4–6 weeks
  • Compensation: $60–$100/hour for hourly project work
  • The initial assignment is task-based; contributors who successfully complete and receive approval for their first task may then qualify for hourly work for the remainder of the project
  • Work includes evaluation of compliance assessments, regulatory analyses, licensing reviews, eligibility determinations, violation reports, and enforcement scenarios
  • Projects may be extended, shortened, or concluded based on project needs and performance
  • Work must be completed without using confidential or proprietary information belonging to any employer, client, institution, or other third party
  • H1-B and STEM OPT support is unavailable for this engagement
