Job description

We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for experienced data analysis and quantitative professionals with strong expertise in interpreting data, reviewing quantitative results, developing analytical readouts, and communicating data-driven findings.

This role focuses on reviewing professional documents, spreadsheets, and presentation materials related to data analysis and quantitative reporting. Selected experts will assess outputs for numerical accuracy, analytical rigour, interpretation quality, internal consistency, presentation effectiveness, and overall professional credibility.

Key Responsibilities

Data Analysis

  • Evaluate analytical work products for accuracy, completeness, and professional quality
  • Review quantitative findings, calculations, assumptions, and interpretations
  • Assess whether conclusions are appropriately supported by the underlying data
  • Identify analytical errors, unsupported claims, and inconsistencies
  • Apply professional judgement grounded in real-world data analysis experience

Quantitative Readouts & Reporting

  • Review quantitative readouts, analytical summaries, and performance reports
  • Assess whether key findings are presented accurately and with appropriate context
  • Evaluate the relationship between reported metrics and stated conclusions
  • Identify misleading interpretations, missing information, or inappropriate comparisons
  • Review whether quantitative findings are communicated clearly to intended audiences

Metrics & Performance Analysis

  • Evaluate analyses involving metrics, trends, comparisons, and performance indicators
  • Assess whether selected measures appropriately address the underlying question
  • Review calculations and interpretations for logical consistency
  • Identify discrepancies between source data and reported results
  • Evaluate whether analytical conclusions are proportionate to the available evidence

Spreadsheet & Quantitative Review

  • Evaluate spreadsheets supporting analytical and reporting work
  • Review formulas, calculations, assumptions, tables, and quantitative outputs
  • Identify mathematical, logical, or consistency errors
  • Assess whether spreadsheet results support stated findings
  • Review organisation, readability, and usability of quantitative work products

Data Interpretation & Insights

  • Assess the quality of interpretations derived from quantitative information
  • Evaluate whether findings distinguish meaningful patterns from unsupported conclusions
  • Identify missing context, weak reasoning, or analytical overreach
  • Review recommendations based on quantitative findings for internal consistency
  • Evaluate whether insights are clearly connected to supporting evidence

Data Visualisation & Presentation

  • Review charts, tables, dashboards, and other visual representations of quantitative information
  • Assess whether visualisations accurately communicate underlying data
  • Identify misleading scales, unclear labels, inappropriate comparisons, or presentation issues
  • Evaluate information hierarchy and clarity in analytical presentations
  • Ensure key quantitative findings can be understood efficiently

Documents & Presentation Review

  • Evaluate analytical reports, spreadsheets, documents, and slide decks for accuracy and completeness
  • Review presentations for logical flow, clarity, and decision usefulness
  • Identify factual, numerical, analytical, aesthetic, and formatting issues
  • Assess consistency of figures and conclusions across related materials
  • Ensure quantitative findings are clearly and professionally communicated

Structured Evaluation & Feedback

  • Assess assigned outputs against domain-specific quality criteria
  • Identify analytical, numerical, factual, and presentation weaknesses
  • Distinguish substantive quantitative issues from minor editorial concerns
  • Provide clear, structured written feedback explaining identified strengths and weaknesses
  • Apply evaluation standards consistently across different analytical work products

Ideal Profile

  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience in data analysis, quantitative analysis, business intelligence, analytics consulting, or a closely related field
  • Experience as a Data Analyst, Quantitative Analyst, Business Intelligence Analyst, Analytics Consultant, or similar analytical professional
  • Strong practical understanding of data analysis and quantitative reporting
  • Experience developing or reviewing analytical reports, quantitative readouts, spreadsheets, dashboards, or presentation materials
  • Strong ability to evaluate calculations, assumptions, metrics, and data-driven conclusions
  • Excellent quantitative judgement and attention to analytical detail
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
  • Advanced proficiency with PowerPoint / Google Slides
  • Strong spreadsheet and analytical skills
  • Native or professional fluency in English
  • Excellent written communication and ability to provide precise, structured feedback
  • Master's degree or higher from a recognised institution is advantageous

Engagement Details

  • Part-time independent contractor engagement
  • Fully remote
  • Flexible scheduling based on project requirements
  • Compensation: $70–$110/hour
  • Work includes evaluation of data analyses, quantitative readouts, spreadsheets, reports, visualisations, and presentation materials
  • Projects may be extended, shortened, or concluded based on project needs and performance
  • Work must be completed without using confidential or proprietary information belonging to any employer, client, institution, or other third party
  • H1-B and STEM OPT support is unavailable for this engagement
