Job Summary:

As a Clinical Documentation Specialist, you work to improve the overall quality and completeness of provider-based clinical documentation. This includes reviewing patient records and assisting providers to ensure patient records are accurate for severity of illness and level of services rendered 

In this role, you will work with providers, coders and other patient care team members for comprehensive patient documentation. You will also develop and deliver clinical documentation improvement education to providers, and you will formulate, monitor and respond to all compliant documentation clarification requests.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Associate degree in Health Information Management or related field 
  • 1-2 years of inpatient coding experience 
  • RN with active state licensure OR Certification: RHIA/RHIT, CCS, CDIP, CCDS 

 

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 

  • Bachelor of Nursing or bachelor’s degree in Health Information Management or related field 
  • Experience with acute care inpatient coding or clinical documentation improvement 
  • RN, RHIA/ RHIT, CCS, CDIP, CCDS certification 

Salary Range - $41,600 - $134,680
