Job description

Description

AEM (Advanced Environmental Monitoring) is the global leader in innovative mission critical weather, wildfire and water monitoring and intelligence solutions. We aim to be the world’s essential source for environmental insights – enabling decisive action and positive outcomes for our customers and their constituents. Our family of innovators offers world-class hydrometeorological technologies and services, including sensors, dataloggers, telemetry, and advanced analytics and software. Our technology and services empower the communities and organizations to survive – and thrive – in the face of escalating environmental risks.

We're hiring a Sales Development Program Manager to own AEM's outbound prospecting function end to end. This is the singular headcount responsible for top-of-funnel pipeline across our commercial verticals, and the person in this seat will build the system, run it, and continuously improve it.

This is a player-coach role. You will run outbound sequences yourself, set sales calls, and optimize what's working, while also building the Apollo automation, AI tooling, and process infrastructure that allows the function to scale. We're looking for someone who already uses AI as a core part of their daily prospecting workflow, not someone who plans to learn it.

Job Responsibilities:

Outbound pipeline and prospecting

  • Own and hit a monthly quota of outbound attended meetings and qualified opportunities across AEM's priority verticals.
  • Run multi-channel outbound cadences across email, phone, and LinkedIn, working named target accounts with 3-5 contacts per account before moving on.
  • Identify the right contacts at the right accounts using intent signals, website visitor data, job posting triggers, and seasonal market timing.
  • Follow up on inbound leads with urgency, enroll them into the right sequences, and hand off qualified meetings to the sales team with clean context.

Apollo automation and AI-assisted prospecting

  • Own the Apollo instance as AEM's primary outbound operating system, including the sequence library, list hygiene, sending infrastructure, and performance reporting.
  • Build and continuously optimize AI-assisted prospecting workflows using tools like Claude and ChatGPT to produce sequence copy, call scripts, and account research at scale.
  • Convert manual sequence steps to automated where quality allows, and maintain clean domain health and list quality to protect sender reputation.
  • Run a structured weekly review of sequence performance: reply rates, bounce rates, subject line tests, and contact enrollment, and act on what the data says.

ABM and market development

  • Build and manage intent-based target account lists tied to seasonal events, weather triggers, geography, and ICP fit, and keep them fresh.
  • Coordinate with marketing on campaign-aligned outbound plays, webinar follow-up, and content-driven sequences.
  • Bring new top-of-funnel ideas: new verticals, new triggers, new channels. This function is being built from scratch and you have the latitude to shape it.

This job description may not be inclusive of all assigned duties, responsibilities, or aspects of the job described, and may be amended at any time at the sole discretion of the Employer.

Requirements

  • 3 to 5 years of SDR, BDR, or outbound sales experience in a B2B environment with a track record of consistently hitting meeting and pipeline goals.
  • Hands-on sequencing platform experience in Apollo or an equivalent tool: you have built sequences, managed lists, and read performance data, not just enrolled contacts in someone else's cadence.
  • Multi-channel cadence execution in practice: email, phone, and LinkedIn working together, with LinkedIn and calling as real parts of the motion, not afterthoughts.
  • Working experience using AI writing and research tools as part of a daily prospecting workflow: Claude, ChatGPT, or similar. This is a hard requirement, not a nice to have.
  • Comfortable reading sequence and campaign performance data and making decisions from it. You know the difference between an activity      problem and a conversion problem.
  • Clear, direct written communication. Your cold emails sound like a person, not a template. You can write something under 50 words that actually gets a reply.
  • Experience or genuine interest in environmental technology, weather monitoring, energy, government, or industrial markets is a strong plus.
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent practical experience.

Additional Information

  • This is a remote opportunity that can be done from anywhere in the continental United States and/or Canada
  • Must be eligible to work in the U.S. or Canada without company sponsorship, now or in the future, for employment-based work authorization. F-1 visa holders with Optional Practical Training (OPT) who will require H-1B status, TNs, or current H-1B visa holders will not be considered. H1-B and green card sponsorship is not available for this position.
