We are seeking an experienced Data Engineer / BI Developer to join our team. In this role, you will work across active client projects to design and implement data pipelines, migrate legacy ETL workloads, and build scalable reporting and analytics solutions on the Microsoft data platform. The ideal candidate is equally comfortable writing complex T-SQL, building Power BI reports, and architecting data flows in Microsoft Fabric, and can hit the ground running on day one.

Qualifications

Expectations - the experience you need

  • 5+ years of experience in data engineering, BI development, or similar roles
  • Expertise working with SQL, T-SQL, SSIS, etc.
  • Proven experience migrating SSIS packages to cloud-native ETL/ELT solutions (Microsoft Fabric or Azure Data Factory strongly preferred)
  • Strong hands-on experience with Microsoft Fabric, including Lakehouses, Data Warehouses, Pipelines, Dataflows Gen2, and Notebooks
  • Proficiency with Power BI: report and dashboard development, DAX, data modeling, Power Query (M), and report publishing/workspace management
  • Hands-on experience with Azure data services: Azure Data Factory, Azure Data Lake Storage, Azure SQL Database, and/or Azure Synapse Analytics
  • Solid understanding of data warehouse concepts: dimensional modeling, star/snowflake schemas, slowly changing dimensions
  • Experience working in Agile/Scrum delivery environments with multiple concurrent workstreams
  • Experience in a client-facing consulting or professional services environment

Nice to Have

  • Experience with Salesforce data integrations or Salesforce API consumption (REST/SOAP)
  • Familiarity with Python or PySpark for data transformation within Fabric Notebooks or Azure Databricks
  • Exposure to machine learning workflows or Azure Machine Learning
  • Microsoft certifications: DP-700 (Fabric Analytics Engineer), PL-300 (Power BI Data Analyst), DP-203 (Azure Data Engineer), or equivalent

What you will do

  • Write complex, high-performance T-SQL and SQL queries for data transformation, reporting layers, and stored procedures
  • Migrate legacy SSIS packages to modern Microsoft Fabric equivalents, ensuring data integrity, performance, and maintainability throughout the process
  • Design, develop, and optimize ETL/ELT pipelines using Microsoft Fabric (Data Factory, Dataflows Gen2, Lakehouse, Warehouses) and Azure Data Services
  • Build, maintain, and optimize Power BI reports and dashboards, including semantic model design, DAX measures, and data modeling best practices
  • Collaborate with client stakeholders to gather requirements, document data flows, and translate business needs into scalable technical solutions
  • Develop and manage data models (star schema, snowflake) within Azure Synapse Analytics, Fabric Warehouses, or SQL Server environments
  • Monitor, troubleshoot, and tune pipeline performance, data quality, and query execution across production and development environments
  • Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to solution design decisions for new client engagements
  • Document technical designs, pipeline logic, and data definitions clearly for both technical and non-technical audiences
