Job description

How You Will Contribute:

  • Deploy medium to large-scale EF&I projects with medium/high complexity, ensuring delivery within budget, schedule, and Ciena quality standards.

  • Manage customer expectations, communications, escalations, and governance throughout the project lifecycle.

  • Develop project schedules, identify risks, and implement mitigation strategies to ensure smooth execution.

  • Drive quality across all aspects of project services, from site and network engineering through installation, testing, and readiness for service.

  • Collaborate with internal stakeholders and vendors to ensure timely delivery and cost-effective deployment activities.

  • Maintain project documentation, including schedules, financials, risks, and issues, ensuring transparency and alignment with project management plans.

  • Coach and guide junior team members to meet project deliverables and contribute to team success.
     

The Must Haves:

  • A technical degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • PMP certification preferred (required within one year of hire).

  • Minimum of 10 years of telecommunications industry operational experience and/or project implementation.

  • Minimum of 8 years in a lead role managing medium to large-scale projects.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (Word, PowerPoint, Excel).
     

The Assets:

  • Subsea deployment experience is a strong advantage.

  • Business and financial management skills, particularly in project-level P&L.

  • Strong communication, negotiation, and decision-making abilities.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously, prioritizing critical tasks and resources.

  • Familiarity with Ciena’s products and technologies is a plus.

Pay Range:

 The annual pay range for this position in the USA is $96,900- $154,700 USD

 The annual pay range for this position in Canada is $89,100 - $142,300 CAD

Pay ranges at Ciena are designed to accommodate variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions, and locations, reflecting our diverse products, industries, and lines of business. Please note that the pay range information provided in this posting pertains specifically to the primary location, which is the top location listed in case multiple locations are available.

Non-Sales employees may be eligible for a discretionary incentive bonus, while Sales employees may be eligible for a sales commission.
