At Greencross Ballarat, we're growing and looking for an experienced Veterinary Nurse to join our close-knit team.

We're offering a casual or part-time opportunity, working up to 3-4 days per week, with the potential to increase hours and transition into a permanent position as the clinic continues to grow.

This is the perfect role for a nurse who enjoys being hands-on, values gold-standard patient care, and wants to work alongside a team that genuinely enjoys working together. About Our Clinic

Located just 75 minutes west of Melbourne, our clinic operates from a charming historic building dating back to Ballarat's gold rush era.

Recently renovated and thoughtfully designed, our hospital combines modern veterinary medicine with a welcoming and comfortable environment.

  • Multiparameter anaesthetic monitoring
  • Electrocautery and suction
  • iM3 dental unit with digital dental radiography
  • Digital radiography
  • Tonometry
  • Ultrasound
  • Dedicated dog and cat wards
  • Spacious treatment and hospital areas

We're a growing small animal practice with a large and loyal client base and a fantastic reputation within the local community.

About the Role

We're looking for experienced nurses who can confidently contribute across all aspects of veterinary nursing.

This position offers:

  • Casual or part-time employment
  • Approximately 3-4 days per week (negotiable)
  • Full availability and flexibility Monday to Saturday
  • Opportunity to increase hours as the clinic grows
  • Future potential for permanent employment
  • Rotating Saturdays (9:00am - 1:00pm), approximately one in four
  • No Sundays
  • No after-hours requirements
  • Excellent work-life balance

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Surgical nursing and theatre assistance
  • Anaesthetic monitoring and patient recovery
  • Medical nursing and hospital patient care
  • Consult nursing and client education
  • Emergency and critical care nursing
  • Pathology collection and diagnostic testing
  • Supporting veterinarians during consultations and procedures
  • Reception and customer service duties when required
  • Maintaining high standards of cleanliness and infection control
  • Contributing to our Team-Based Care model

About You

We're looking for someone who:

  • Holds a Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing (or equivalent)
  • Has a minimum of 2+ years of clinical veterinary nursing experience
  • Has strong surgical nursing experience
  • Is confident and competent monitoring anaesthesia independently
  • Demonstrates excellent patient care and animal handling skills
  • Has experience in medical and hospital nursing
  • Has excellent communication and customer service abilities
  • Works well independently and as part of a collaborative team
  • Is calm, mature, empathetic, and professional
  • Has experience with Team-Based Care (highly regarded)
