The Role

The Senior Manager is a key delivery and people leader supporting Interoperability solutions within Nordic’s Strategic Advisory Services division. This position will be responsible for successfully managing strategic projects and client relationships with both traditional healthcare providers and third-party, digital health companies ranging from early-stage startups through global MedTech companies.
This role is instrumental in improving client delivery and EHR user workflow adoption of products and data. In addition, this role enables and collaborates with the sales and partnerships teams to position the value and reputation of the Nordic’s services in the broader digital health technology and healthcare system markets.

Key Responsibilities

The Senior Manager will have the following key responsibilities, which include but are not limited to:

  • Acting as an overall solution and technical subject matter expert in a customer-facing role

  • Providing pre-sales solution generation that succinctly describes how a solution meets the client’s communicated needs and engenders client support for the proposed solution

  • Eliciting customer requirements, visioning solutions, and documenting technical and business requirements pertaining to web applications

  • Lead and manage interoperability projects, including the design and implementation of interfaces using Epic Bridges, HL7, FHIR, and SMART on FHIR.

  • Collaborate with healthcare providers, IT teams, and vendors to assess current systems and recommend solutions for efficient data exchange.

  • Oversee the development, testing, and deployment of client interfaces to ensure seamless integration between EHR systems, third-party applications, and external data sources.

  • Provide technical leadership and mentorship to junior consultants and team members.

  • Conduct detailed analysis of client needs and create integration roadmaps tailored to each organization’s infrastructure.

  • Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations, data standards, and security protocols, including HIPAA.

  • Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to data interoperability, system integration, and interface performance.

  • Stay current with the latest industry trends, standards, and technologies related to healthcare interoperability.

  • Leading solution development processes through continuous and iterative solution planning, scoping, and documentation, team mentorship, development review, and client discussions.

  • Collaborating with internal Nordic leadership, EHR architects, and broader Advisory solution teams on solution design and delivery that requires Interoperability and integration expertise.

  • Demonstrating executive presence and delivering dynamic presentations to executive audiences

  • Improving process and internal support documents and assist in the improvement of workflows and processes and managing multiple projects simultaneously.

  • Coordinating internal resourece, forecast and manage work for self and others assigned to work on owned solutions.

  • Facilitate the growth and development of less senior team members by teaching them the technical tools and operational knowledge of the practice area and providing opportunities for them to take ownership of certain aspects of the project

  • Participating in continuous learning opportunities including new Epic or professional certifications.

  • Working to uphold and strengthen the Digital Health team culture alongside Nordic’s corporate culture.

Qualifications, Skills & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Healthcare IT, or related field

  • 12+ years of experience with Epic Bridges, HL7, FHIR, SMART on FHIR and/or other healthcare specific integration technologies.

  • 4+ years of people management experience.

  • Extensive experience in designing, developing, and maintaining healthcare data interfaces.

  • Experience working with Epic EHR systems, including strong knowledge of Epic Bridges.

  • Expertise in HL7 messaging standards, including Version 2.x, CDA, and IHE profiles.

  • Strong knowledge of FHIR APIs and their implementation in real-world healthcare environments.

  • Experience with SMART on FHIR applications and integrating third-party apps into EHR systems.

  • Familiarity with other healthcare interoperability protocols, such as X12, DICOM, and CDA, is a plus.

  • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.

  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to interact with technical and non-technical stakeholders.

  • Ability to lead multiple projects simultaneously and manage client relationships effectively.

  • Experience working in a consulting or advisory role

  • Knowledge of cloud technologies and their applications in healthcare (e.g., AWS, Azure)

  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, and proven ability to communicate complex technical topics to a variety of business partners

  • Must demonstrate and embody Nordic’s maxims
