Job Description:

  • Receive day old chicks at the local airport or designated area as well as monitoring environmental conditions and chick quality upon arrival.
  • Verify shipment documents, product quantity, flight details, and delivery schedules.
  • Inspect chick condition upon arrival, including temperature, ventilation, mortality rate, and overall chick quality.  
  • Handle emergency situations such as delayed flights, missing shipments,  or environmental condition concerns.
  • Monitoring of environmental conditions during customer delivery to farm for placement.
  • Recommend improvement opportunities in relation to improving chick comfort during transport to customer farm.
  • Assist in identifying root causes of mortality issues and recommend corrective and preventive actions.
  • Provide detailed delivery reports within expected timeframes to the required technical standard.
  • Ensure compliance with company animal welfare requirements and biosecurity procedures throughout the receiving and delivery process.
  • Support local customer’s basic technical issue during delivery to farm or in brooding period. Provide trouble shooting and problem solving to improve product performance.
  • Learn technical best practices by shadowing senior team members during farm visits and regional trips.
  • Where directed, assist with translation of  technical material to local language and assisting with translation services in farm operations with local customer staff for enhancing communication effectiveness and creating mutual understanding for improvement.  

Qualification

  • Graduate Agricultural / Rural degree in poultry or animal science is a prerequisite.
  • Minimum of 3 years of relevant farm operational management, in poultry industry with knowledge of poultry handling and biosecurity practices preferred.
  • Communication skills in English and local language as base country assigned, including the ability to present in written communication and oral communication
  • Problem solving skills generating product performance improvement.
  • Time management, negotiation, conflict management.
  • Able to work flexible hours depending on assign schedules.
  • Able to travel according to job requirement, have their own car and driving license.
  • Computer skills, including spread sheeting, use of computer database/ CRM, data collection and formal report writing.
