Role Overview

The Physician Advisor, Associate Partner will serve as a senior clinical leader within Chartis’ Digital & Technology Transformation Line of Business (LOB), bringing a physician perspective to help healthcare organizations navigate complex clinical, operational, and technology-enabled transformation. This individual will advise health system executives, physician leaders, and clinical teams on opportunities to improve clinical performance, physician engagement, care delivery, and the clinician experience through workflow redesign, EHR optimization, digital solutions, data, and emerging technologies such as AI. The Physician Advisor will bridge clinical, operational, and technology perspectives, translating the needs of physicians and other frontline clinicians into practical strategies and solutions that drive adoption, performance improvement, and sustainable change.

Associate Partners are integral members of our firm’s leadership team, contributing to firm-building efforts while managing 1-4 consulting engagements at a time. Associate Partners provide leadership across multiple dimensions – thought leadership, consulting engagement delivery, client service, business development, and cultural stewardship.

As a member of the leadership team, an Associate Partner is responsible for advancing the firm’s impact by leading the execution and delivery of large, complex consulting engagements, as well as expanding new and potential business opportunities. For this role, we’re seeking a subject matter expert with deep experience in clinical transformation, physician engagement, change management, and EHR adoption and optimization.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the delivery of client engagements within Chartis’ Digital & Technology Transformation LOB, including directing activities of the engagement team, leading the problem-solving process and overseeing team analysis and deliverables

  • Advise clients on technology-enabled clinical transformation, including clinical informatics strategy and operating models, EHR and digital health planning, AI, implementation and optimization, workflow and care delivery redesign, governance, clinical engagement, organizational change readiness, adoption, and value realization

  • Serve as a senior clinical advisor on complex transformation engagements, bringing an evidence-informed physician perspective to decisions affecting care delivery, clinical workflows, patient safety, clinician experience, and technology adoption.

  • Assess and design clinical informatics programs, including strategy, governance, operating models, organizational structure, roles, staffing, competencies, and development pathways

  • Guide organizational readiness, clinician engagement, change leadership, and adoption efforts to ensure that new workflows and technologies are successfully implemented and sustained

  • Help clients define, measure, and realize value from EHR, digital, data, and AI investments, with clear outcome measures, accountability, and sustainability plans.

  • As part of the clinical team, contribute to the broader transformation practice by developing consulting solutions that advance our clients’ clinical and physician strategies, operations, and performance

  • Develop and/or oversee high-quality client deliverables, presentations, and other materials that clearly communicate findings, insights, and actionable recommendations

  • Apply thought leadership to client engagements, generating actionable insights that drive meaningful improvement for the firm’s clients, developing frameworks and approaches with broad potential impact

  • Build and maintain trust-based relationships with existing and prospective clients, drawing upon healthcare knowledge and insights to surface and discuss issues within and beyond the scope of specific consulting engagements

  • Act as a coach and mentor to client clinical and informatics leaders and develop Chartis colleagues through practical, apprenticeship-based learning

  • Foster collaboration within engagement teams, across practices, and at all levels of the firm

  • Help maintain a collaborative culture that attracts world-class, passionate, and mission-driven consultants

Qualifications and Desired Skills

  • At least 10 years working with healthcare providers, including 2+ years managing others

  • Medical Doctor (MD or DO) required with 5+ years of demonstrated experience in provider leadership roles and operational management experience

  • Advanced degree or certification preferred (e.g., MBA, MHI, MHA, MPH), with emphasis in informatics

  • Formal training, certification, or demonstrated education in clinical informatics, health informatics, or a related field is strongly preferred

  • Prior management consulting experience is preferred

  • Experience building and leading informatics teams and EHR initiatives (,Epic, Oracle Health, Meditech) such as selection, planning, implementations, operations, optimization, upgrades, and technology-enabled performance improvement.

Salary range: $226,500 - $350,000, plus may be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus. The salary range for this role takes into account the wide range of factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including, but not limited to, skills, experience, training, licensure and certifications, practice area, and other business and organizational needs. In addition, Chartis offers several benefits including medical, dental, vision, HSA, FSA, disability insurance, life insurance, 401(k) match, paid time off, wellness stipend, and additional voluntary benefits.
