We are seeking a motivated HR Intern to join our People & Culture team on an internship basis, with the potential for a permanent role. This opportunity is ideal for someone who is intelligent with strong analytical and problem-solving skills, methodical, detail-oriented, organised, and eager to learn and grow in the field of Human Resources. As an HR Intern, you will gain hands-on experience in HR processes, tools, and systems while being mentored by our People & Culture Executive, giving you valuable exposure to real-world HR practices and the chance to contribute meaningfully to our team.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in recruitment activities (job postings, candidate screening, interview coordination).
  • Support employee lifecycle processes: onboarding, probation tracking, performance reviews, and off-boarding.
  • Help with payroll-related tasks such as reimbursements, overtime claims, and attendance tracking.
  • Contribute to employee engagement initiatives (town halls, welfare programs, internal communication).
  • Maintain accurate employee records and support compliance with Sri Lankan labour laws.
  • Research and update HR best practices, policies, and procedures.
  • Work with HR systems such as Zoho People, Zoho Recruit, and Zoho Projects (training provided).

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing or recently completed a Bachelor’s Degree / Diploma in Human Resource Management or equivalent from a recognized Sri Lankan institution.
  • Candidates who have completed a recent internship or have up to 6 months of relevant work experience in HR are also encouraged to apply.
  • Strong academic record with evidence of high learning capability and analytical thinking.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills in English and Sinhala (Tamil an advantage).
  • Ability to self-learn using online resources, tutorials, and tools.
  • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • ​Positive attitude, strong work ethic, and willingness to take initiative.
