About the Role

We are looking for an experienced Commercial Credit Analyst to support an Australian mortgage or commercial finance broker with the end-to-end management of commercial and complex lending applications.

The ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of the Australian lending environment, particularly commercial finance, self-employed borrowers, and complex financial structures. You will be responsible for preparing and managing applications, reviewing financial documentation, coordinating with lenders and stakeholders, and ensuring applications progress smoothly through to settlement.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage commercial and complex loan applications from initial assessment through to settlement.

  • Review and analyse borrower financial information, including individual, company, trust, and partnership financials.

  • Assess borrower income, assets, liabilities, existing debt, and overall financial position.

  • Assist with loan structuring and identify suitable lending solutions based on client circumstances.

  • Prepare and submit accurate loan applications and credit submissions to appropriate lenders.

  • Review lender policies and determine documentation and eligibility requirements.

  • Conduct preliminary serviceability and credit assessments.

  • Collect, verify, and organise supporting documentation.

  • Identify missing or inconsistent information and coordinate with the broker, client, accountant, or other relevant parties to resolve issues.

  • Liaise with lenders, BDMs, credit teams, accountants, brokers, solicitors, and clients throughout the application process.

  • Manage lender conditions, outstanding requirements, and follow-ups.

  • Monitor application progress and provide regular updates to the broker.

  • Maintain accurate records, notes, and documentation within the relevant CRM or loan processing system.

  • Ensure applications and supporting documents meet Australian lending and compliance requirements.

  • Assist with settlement preparation and ensure all outstanding requirements are completed.

  • Manage multiple applications while meeting deadlines and maintaining a high level of accuracy.

Commercial Lending Focus

The role will involve working with a range of commercial and complex lending scenarios, including:

  • Commercial property finance

  • Business lending

  • Investment lending

  • Self-employed borrowers

  • Company and trust structures

  • Partnerships

  • Complex income structures

  • Multiple-source income

  • Refinances and debt consolidation

  • Asset and equipment finance, where applicable

Required Skills & Experience

  • 2+ years of experience in Australian mortgage lending, commercial lending, parabroking, or loan processing.

  • Strong understanding of the Australian mortgage and commercial lending process.

  • Demonstrated experience handling commercial or complex loan applications.

  • Strong experience with self-employed borrowers.

  • Ability to review and understand company, trust, partnership, and individual financial statements.

  • Knowledge of Australian lender policies and credit requirements.

  • Experience preparing loan submissions and supporting credit documentation.

  • Strong attention to detail and document accuracy.

  • Excellent written and verbal English communication skills.

  • Strong organisational and time-management skills.

  • Ability to manage multiple applications and follow up outstanding requirements.

  • Ability to work independently and communicate effectively with Australian stakeholders.
