Diabetes Health Educator to deliver face to face and online courses Must be based in Northumberland, North Tyneside, Gateshead areas 

£18 per hour

We're looking for a Diabetes Health Educator to deliver education courses to adult patients.  Our EMPOWER courses are loved by patients and our educators get a real buzz from helping people understand their diabetes, and they enjoy helping people to make small sustainable changes in their lifestyle.  Could you be our next Educator?  You don’t have to have clinical training, we will provide you with all the course content and support you to deliver fantastic courses!

The role

This role is key in delivering an exceptional, effective structured diabetes education service for patients in the above areas. (evening and weekend availability is required).  Flexibility is required and offered. 

  • Delivery of the EMPOWER programme to patients.
  • Delivery of face to face courses within the advertised area and occasional video courses (via Teams)
  • Ensuring our EMPOWER programmes are delivered in accordance with the curriculum, syllabus, educator handbook, lesson plan and service(s) Operating Manual.
  • Ensure delivery of the EMPOWER programme in accordance with all Spirit policies and procedures

Who we need

You are a clinical/non-clinical educator with experience in teaching/training adults.  You are an enthusiastic self-starter, understand the importance of promoting self-care and an ability to support patients in achieving positive change and improved health outcomes.  You work autonomously, are reliable, punctual and a confident communicator.  You want to make a difference


This role requires travel within the above area to deliver face-to-face courses in local community settings so you must be located within the area, own a car and be in possession of UK driving licence.
