Position Overview

RecruitGo is seeking a detail-oriented and client-focused Legal Assistant to support the supervising attorney and legal team throughout the estate planning process.

The role involves preparing and drafting estate planning documents such as wills, trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and deeds, as well as communicating with clients, scheduling appointments, providing case updates, and coordinating signing meetings.

The ideal candidate is highly organized, responsive, and detail-oriented, with strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities

  • Draft and prepare estate planning documents, including wills, trusts, powers of attorney, healthcare directives, and deeds, using firm templates and attorney instructions.

  • Communicate with clients regarding case status, document drafts, next steps, and appointments.

  • Prepare and organize estate planning binders and signing documents, ensuring accuracy and proper execution.

  • Maintain accurate physical and digital case files and update client information, documents, tasks, and notes in case management systems such as Clio or CaseStatus.

  • Track case timelines, deadlines, and workflows, proactively flagging required actions to attorneys.

  • Conduct limited legal research and assist with assembling complex trust packages under attorney guidance.

  • Coordinate with attorneys, intake specialists, administrative staff, and other legal assistants to ensure smooth case progression.

  • Finalize and organize executed documents, assemble post-signing binders, and assist with deed recording and follow-up.

  • Strong ability to follow established processes, maintain accurate records, and meet deadlines.

  • Ability to work effectively independently and as part of a legal team.

  • Previous experience in estate planning, legal support, or a similar role is preferred.
