Senior leadership role in energy efficiency and regulatory advisory within a fast-growing independent energy services consulting firm. High-impact position combining technical leadership, regulatory expertise and strategic market development.

We are currently partnering with a fast-growing energy services platform to recruit a Senior Manager – CAEs Technical & Regulatory to lead and scale its technical and regulatory activities within the Spanish Certificados de Ahorro Energético (CAEs) market.

The role

This is a high-impact senior leadership role within an entrepreneurial environment, offering real ownership, autonomy and the opportunity to build and scale a technical function. The position combines technical expertise, regulatory leadership, project oversight and strategic market vision.

You will play a central role in leading technical CAEs activities, supervising engineering teams, ensuring regulatory compliance and contributing to the company’s growth strategy in the energy efficiency and decarbonisation sector.

What you’ll be doing

  • Lead and manage the technical CAEs team, supervising engineers and technical consultants.

  • Oversee the technical assessment, development and execution of energy efficiency projects eligible for CAEs certification.

  • Ensure accurate calculation, documentation and verification of energy savings according to regulatory methodologies.

  • Review and validate technical calculations, savings models and project documentation.

  • Supervise the preparation and submission of technical files to verification bodies and regulatory authorities.

  • Act as internal authority on CAEs regulatory framework and maintain interaction with regulators and verification entities.

  • Monitor regulatory developments and translate them into practical technical and business strategies.

  • Evaluate projects originated by the commercial team and define appropriate CAEs methodologies.

  • Identify technical risks and ensure efficient project progression through certification stages.

  • Contribute to strategic market development by identifying new CAEs and energy efficiency opportunities.

  • Build, mentor and develop a high-performing technical team.

  • Support the commercial team in technical evaluation of opportunities and client proposals.

Profile

  • University degree in Engineering (Energy, Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Civil or similar).

  • Additional certifications in energy savings measurement and verification are a plus.

  • Proven experience leading technical teams or complex engineering projects.

  • Strong knowledge of CAEs schemes and energy efficiency regulatory frameworks.

  • Experience working with regulators, verification bodies or public authorities.

  • Strong expertise in energy savings calculations and technical project validation.

  • Leadership and stakeholder management capabilities.

  • Entrepreneurial mindset and ability to operate in fast-growing environments.

  • Fluent English is mandatory.
