Job description

About the Opportunity

The successful candidate will have prior transaction monitoring / investigations management experience in the financial services, FinTech or cryptocurrency industries, ideally within a regulated environment. You will help support the day-to-day transaction monitoring and suspicious activity investigations and reporting program for financial crimes related to money laundering and terrorism financing. This role will also entail supporting the operational teams in building out processes along the investigations lifecycle. You will report to the Head of the Global FCC Investigations and collaborate closely with key stakeholders, including the MLRO, Risk and Law Enforcement Liaison teams. You will be expected to demonstrate strong expertise in Global AML/CFT regulatory requirements, investigative processes, systems design, and effective documentation practices.

What You'll Be Doing

  • Lead and manage a team of AML investigators, providing guidance, mentorship, and support to ensure high-quality performance.
  • Support operational processes to ensure compliance with applicable laws, regulations, and industry best practices.
  • Evaluate AML/CFT transaction monitoring and Suspicious Transaction Report (STR) requirements across multiple jurisdictions to ensure timely and accurate escalations.
  • Help build out tactical and scalable solutions for operational teams to manage compliance tasks.
  • Collaborate with product and engineering teams to roll out enhancements to systems and tools that facilitate operational efficiencies and meet regulatory requirements
  • Make recommendations for and help implement process improvements and procedure updates across the Global FCC Investigations teams including Transaction Monitoring, Blockchain Investigations and Suspicious Transaction Reporting.
  • Draft and maintain relevant standard operating procedures and drive high quality and efficiency in operational processes. Analyze data to identify process gaps and opportunities, and partner with Compliance Leaders, Training and other GFCCI managers to recommend mitigating activities for risk, improve quality of investigations, team performance and close process gaps.
  • Stay abreast of changes to the cryptocurrency industry, financial crime trends, and global regulatory developments to assess impact to Transaction Monitoring and Investigations.
  • Working on ad-hoc projects assigned by Senior Leadership

What We Look For In You

  • 5+ years of direct and strong technical experience in AML/CFT investigations and operations in relevant financial crimes, transaction monitoring and investigation roles, preferably within a regulated financial institution, payment institution or Digital Payment Token (DPT) service provider.
  • 2–3 years of demonstrated experience leading and managing high-performing teams.
  • Analytical and metrics-driven mindset to create substantiated solutions.
  • Fundamental knowledge of Global AML/CFT regimes, including relevant FATF Guidances.
  • Experience performing in a fast-paced environment and proven ability to meet deadlines.
  • Strong process and project management skills with attention to detail, proactive and well organized.
  • Self-motivated, critical thinker and adept at working independently and in a dispersed team environment covering multiple and varied tasks.
  • Intuitive, highly ethical, and comfortable to question and challenge the status quo.
  • Strong communication and presentation skills, both verbal and written.
  • Experience working as an independent leader and with team members of all levels.
  • Strong adopter of AI tooling

Nice to Haves

  • Experience working in a multinational or matrixed organization, ideally with global coverage.
  • Familiarity with widely used transaction monitoring, blockchain analytics and reporting tools, such as Elliptic, Chainalysis
  • Relevant industry certifications such as CAMS, CFCS, ICA Diploma, or equivalent.
