We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for experienced market research and competitive intelligence professionals with strong expertise in market analysis, competitor assessment, industry research, and strategic insight development.

This role focuses on reviewing professional documents, spreadsheets, and presentation materials related to market research and competitive intelligence. Selected experts will assess outputs for factual accuracy, analytical rigour, source quality, strategic relevance, and overall professional credibility.

Key Responsibilities

Market Research Review

  • Evaluate market research outputs for accuracy, completeness, and analytical quality
  • Assess market sizing, segmentation, trend analysis, and industry conclusions
  • Identify unsupported assumptions, weak evidence, and inconsistencies in research findings
  • Review whether conclusions are appropriately grounded in available data
  • Apply professional judgement to realistic commercial research scenarios

Competitive Intelligence

  • Review competitor profiles, landscape analyses, and market positioning assessments
  • Evaluate comparisons across products, capabilities, pricing, strategy, and market presence
  • Identify missing competitors, incorrect claims, and misleading comparisons
  • Assess whether competitive conclusions are supported by credible evidence
  • Review implications for strategy, positioning, and market entry decisions

Industry & Market Analysis

  • Evaluate research involving industry structure, growth drivers, risks, and emerging trends
  • Review market dynamics and changing competitive conditions
  • Assess the quality and relevance of supporting sources
  • Identify gaps between evidence and stated conclusions
  • Distinguish meaningful market signals from weak or speculative claims

Strategic Insights & Recommendations

  • Review recommendations derived from market and competitor research
  • Assess whether strategic conclusions follow logically from the underlying analysis
  • Evaluate implications for growth, positioning, investment, or go-to-market decisions
  • Identify overgeneralisation or unsupported strategic recommendations
  • Assess whether insights are practical, differentiated, and decision-useful

Data & Spreadsheet Review

  • Evaluate spreadsheets supporting market sizing, benchmarking, segmentation, or competitor analysis
  • Review calculations, assumptions, source inputs, and derived metrics
  • Identify inconsistencies between underlying data and reported findings
  • Assess whether quantitative evidence is presented clearly and accurately
  • Verify that analysis is internally consistent across supporting materials

Documents & Presentation Review

  • Evaluate research reports, spreadsheets, and slide decks for accuracy and completeness
  • Review executive presentations for clarity, logical flow, and strategic usefulness
  • Identify factual, analytical, aesthetic, and formatting issues
  • Assess whether charts, tables, and visuals accurately represent underlying data
  • Ensure key insights and recommendations are clearly communicated

Structured Evaluation & Feedback

  • Assess assigned outputs against domain-specific quality criteria
  • Identify factual, analytical, strategic, and presentation errors
  • Distinguish substantive research weaknesses from minor editorial issues
  • Provide clear, structured written feedback explaining identified strengths and weaknesses
  • Apply evaluation standards consistently across different research work products

Ideal Profile

  • 5+ years of relevant professional experience in market research, competitive intelligence, market analysis, strategic research, insights, or a closely related field
  • Strong experience conducting or reviewing competitor and industry analyses
  • Practical understanding of market sizing, segmentation, trend analysis, and strategic research
  • Ability to assess source quality, analytical reasoning, and evidence-based conclusions
  • Strong experience translating research findings into commercially relevant insights
  • Highly proficient with Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
  • Advanced proficiency with PowerPoint / Google Slides
  • Strong spreadsheet and analytical skills
  • Native or professional fluency in English
  • Excellent written communication and ability to provide precise, structured feedback
  • Strong attention to factual, analytical, and presentation detail
  • Master's degree or higher from a recognised institution is advantageous

Engagement Details

  • Part-time independent contractor engagement
  • Fully remote
  • Flexible scheduling based on project requirements
  • Compensation: $70–$110/hour
  • Work includes evaluation of market research, competitive intelligence, spreadsheets, reports, and presentation materials
  • Projects may be extended, shortened, or concluded based on project needs and performance
  • Work must be completed without using confidential or proprietary information belonging to any employer, client, institution, or other third party
  • H1-B and STEM OPT support is unavailable for this engagement
