Job description

Planate Management Group Africa Limited (PMG AFL) is a pivotal hub for our projects in East Africa and beyond. Our team delivers specialized facilities engineering and management consulting services, even in the most challenging environments. The expertise of our Kenyan team in facilities engineering and management is unparalleled, ensuring that we deliver on our promises with quality and efficiency.

 

We are seeking an experienced HR Generalist with a strong background in HRIS, labor relations, recruitment and training. In this role, you will collaborate with cross-functional teams and interact with employees at all levels of the organization. Additionally, you will play a key role in promoting a positive work environment while ensuring compliance with company policies and supporting efficient HR operations.

 

This is a fully remote independent contractor (1099) position with occasional on-site reporting as needed. The anticipated workload is approximately 80 hours per month.

 

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee and maintain the Human Resource Information System, ensuring data accuracy and regulatory compliance
  • Address employee grievances, lead negotiations, and ensure adherence to labor laws
  • Serve as the primary contact for training requirements across all groups and divisions
  • Support the full recruitment process by creating  job postings, screening candidates, and recommending qualified applicants to hiring managers.
  • Facilitate smooth integration of new hires into the organization
  • Manage employee compensation and benefits programs
  • Advise managers and employees on HR policies and procedures
  • Ensure alignment with local labor regulations and company standards
  • Prepare reports and analytics to support strategic decision-making
  • Perform other HR-related duties as assigned

Qualifications to be successful in the role:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Psychology, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field
  • Minimum of 5 years of HR experience, with specialization in HRIS, labor relations, recruitment and training
  • Strong knowledge of labor law and HR compliance requirements
  • Experienced in coordinating end-to-end processes, including job postings, candidate sourcing, screening and endorsement of qualified applicants to hiring managers
  • Proficiency in HRIS platforms and data management
  • Experienced in employee engagement and organizational development initiatives
  • Possesses advanced research skills and excels in stakeholder engagement to support organizational objectives
  • Demonstrates exceptional attention to detail in managing complex tasks and ensuring compliance
  • Strong problem-solving and conflict-resolution skills
  • Outstanding English verbal and written communication skills
