About the Role

As a Civil Litigation Paralegal, you will be a key part of an active litigation practice, supporting attorneys across the full lifecycle of civil matters. This role requires more than general administrative support: you should already have strong civil litigation experience, practical knowledge of litigation procedure, and the judgment to anticipate what needs to happen next.

You will work on pleadings, discovery, court filings, litigation deadlines, case organization, client communication, and hearing and trial preparation. The right person will be detail-oriented, highly organized, and comfortable working proactively and independently without needing step-by-step instruction for routine litigation tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and format pleadings, motions, declarations, and other court filings accurately and in accordance with applicable requirements
  • Complete Judicial Council forms and other forms commonly used in California civil litigation
  • Calendar, monitor, and proactively track litigation deadlines, court dates, discovery due dates, and other case milestones
  • Prepare discovery documents and assist attorneys with drafting, organizing, and finalizing discovery responses
  • Draft demand letters, legal correspondence, and other case-related documents
  • Maintain organized case files, medical records, billing summaries, exhibits, and supporting documentation
  • Prepare and organize documents and exhibits for hearings, depositions, mediations, and trial
  • Conduct client interviews and coordinate document and records collection
  • Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, courts, medical providers, insurance adjusters, experts, and vendors
  • Support attorneys with trial preparation and case strategy while anticipating upcoming needs across an active caseload

Requirements

Must-Have:

  • Strong professional experience supporting civil litigation matters
  • Practical knowledge of civil litigation procedure and the lifecycle of a litigated case
  • Prior experience working in personal injury law
  • Hands-on experience preparing pleadings, motions, declarations, discovery documents, and court filings
  • Experience calendaring and tracking litigation deadlines with a high degree of accuracy
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with clients, attorneys, courts, and outside parties
  • Ability to work proactively, independently, and with strong attention to detail across multiple active cases

Nice to Have:

  • Prior experience as a legal assistant, litigation assistant, or paralegal in a civil litigation practice
  • Experience with California civil litigation and Judicial Council forms
  • Experience supporting hearings, depositions, and trial preparation
  • Spanish bilingual proficiency
  • Experience using Google Drive and digital legal document management systems

Benefits

  • Access to a $200K+ perk marketplace with discounts on 150+ global services.
  • Option to withdraw up to 50% of approved earnings before payday.
