Job description

Title:

Analyst, Project Setup

The Analyst, Project Setup provides project setup and master data support to business units through the centralized project administration process within Deltek Costpoint. Working under the guidance of the Project Setup Supervisor, this role is responsible for creating and maintaining project records, supporting payroll and month-end close activities, ensuring compliance with accounting policies and internal controls, and helping maintain the accuracy of project-related financial data used for revenue recognition, billing, and cost reporting. The position works closely with finance teams and global stakeholders to maintain data integrity and support business operations.

Trinzic is being established as an independent public company through the planned separation of KBR's Mission Technology Solutions business, which is expected to be completed on January 4, 2027. This role offers a rare opportunity to join the organization during a pivotal period of growth and transformation, helping build and support financial operations, project governance, and master data processes that will position the company for long-term success while serving critical government and commercial missions around the world.

Key Responsibilities

  • Collaborate with business units to establish and maintain projects in Deltek Costpoint, ensuring project structures support revenue recognition, billing, and cost reporting requirements.
  • Process project setup requests, including new project creation, contract modification updates, workforce assignments, vendor maintenance, and project ceiling configurations.
  • Support weekly payroll processing by researching and resolving timesheet discrepancies and related system errors.
  • Assist with month-end close activities by processing project-related requests in Costpoint and coordinating with stakeholders to resolve issues impacting financial reporting.
  • Ensure all transactions and project setup activities comply with company accounting policies, business practices, and applicable regulatory requirements.
  • Perform project set up quality reviews and verification activities to support Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) compliance and internal control requirements.
  • Support internal and external audit activities by providing documentation, responding to inquiries, and assisting with audit requests.
  • Prepare ad hoc analyses, reports, and data reviews and perform other duties as assigned by management.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by management

Basic Qualifications

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business Administration, or a related discipline.
  • 2+ years of accounting, finance, project administration, or related business operations experience.
  • Experience working with Deltek Costpoint is preferred.
  • Experience supporting project-based financial operations, project setup, or master data processes preferred.
  • Experience supporting government contracting or professional services environments is beneficial.

Technical & Leadership Skills

  • Working knowledge of accounting principles and financial processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to identify and resolve data discrepancies.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, including advanced Microsoft Excel skills.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities accurately.
  • Effective written and verbal communication skills with the ability to collaborate across business functions.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a deadline-driven environment.
  • Professional, dependable, and committed to continuous learning and process improvement.
  • Ability to maintain accuracy and compliance while handling high volumes of transactional work.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of Work Breakdown Structures (WBS), project maintenance activities, and charge number controls.
  • Experience supporting project accounting within a government services, defense, engineering, or professional services environment.
  • Exposure to Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) controls, audit support activities, or internal compliance processes.
  • Familiarity with revenue recognition, billing, and project cost reporting concepts.
  • Experience participating in process improvement or data governance initiatives.
  • Work requires professional English written and good verbal communication and interpersonal skills
  • Should be flexible regarding work timing (shift timings based on business requirement)
  • Should be flexible regarding work from home vs work from office to be determined based on business requirements
  • Should be flexible to work under defined timelines
