About You
You are a React Native Engineer with strong experience building and maintaining production mobile applications across iOS and Android. You enjoy developing reliable user-facing experiences, integrating mobile applications with backend services, and solving complex challenges across authentication, payments, and account management workflows.
You thrive in collaborative environments where you can take ownership of mobile development initiatives, work closely with Product, Design, QA, and Engineering teams, and contribute to high-quality, scalable mobile solutions.
You Bring to Applaudo the Following Competencies:
- Bachelor’s Degree or higher in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field is desired, or equivalent professional experience.
- 5+ years of professional experience in mobile application development, with strong hands-on experience in React Native.
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript and modern JavaScript.
- Hands-on experience with Expo and Expo Router.
- Proven experience integrating mobile applications with REST APIs.
- Experience implementing form validation and complex user input flows.
- Experience implementing authentication flows, including OTP and/or MFA.
- Experience working with WebViews, preferably in payment-related flows.
- Experience writing and maintaining unit tests for mobile applications.
- Familiarity with native mobile build tools such as Xcode and Gradle/Android Studio.
- Experience working with Git and collaborative software development practices.
- Knowledge of Scrum/Agile methodologies.
- Strong problem-solving, communication, and collaboration skills.
Nice to Have:
- Experience with payment integrations, account management, or autopay functionality.
- Experience developing and supporting applications across both iOS and Android.
You Will Be Accountable for the Following Responsibilities:
- Develop and maintain user-facing features using React Native, Expo, Expo Router, and TypeScript.
- Support integration migrations across the active mobile application.
- Implement authentication flows, including OTP and MFA when applicable.
- Develop account management functionality, including create, read, and update capabilities.
- Integrate payment methods and autopay functionality.
- Implement and maintain WebView-based payment flows and third-party integrations.
- Implement support channel redirects and product-driven feature changes within the application.
- Integrate mobile applications with backend services through REST APIs.
- Implement robust form validation and properly handle loading, error, and edge-case states.
- Write and maintain unit tests for authored code.
- Optimize components for performance across a wide range of mobile devices.
- Collaborate with Development, QA, Product, Design, and other stakeholders to deliver high-quality mobile solutions.
- Take ownership of assigned initiatives while meeting project objectives and delivery timelines.
Qualifications
- 5+ years of professional mobile application development experience, with strong hands-on experience in React Native.
- Strong experience with TypeScript, JavaScript, Expo, and Expo Router.
- Experience integrating mobile applications with REST APIs and implementing authentication flows such as OTP/MFA.
- Experience with mobile testing and native build environments for iOS and Android.
- Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills.
