Job description

Traild: Who are we?

Traild is a high-growth SaaS company redefining how finance teams operate, combining AI, automation, and payments infrastructure to power the future of B2B finance.

Every year, businesses lose billions to fraud, errors, and mistakes. Traild exists to solve this at scale, helping finance teams move faster, stay in control, and operate with confidence.

With rapid customer growth, global expansion across APAC, North America and EMEA, and continued investment in product innovation, we are at a defining stage of our journey.

This is an opportunity to help shape the next category leader in finance automation, control and security, building technology that transforms how businesses manage, move, and protect money. At the core of this is a powerful AI-driven platform, enabling finance teams to deploy intelligent agents that do the work, surface risk in real time, and continuously improve how financial operations run.

Traild is building the infrastructure behind modern finance, protecting and powering meaningful volumes of the world’s B2B transactions.

If you’re excited by high growth, real ownership, and building something that matters, Traild is the place to do the most impactful work of your career.

The Role: Want to be a part of our exciting growth journey?

We are looking for a talented, passionate, and motivated individual to join our team as a Tax & Compliance Specialist, where you will play a critical role in keeping Traild's tax and statutory obligations on time and audit-ready as the group scales across regions, in the Finance team.

You will own the group's multi-jurisdiction compliance calendar across Australia, the US, Canada and Israel, coordinate our external tax advisors from preparation through to lodgement, and prepare the company secretarial and insurance work that Legal reviews and signs off.

The ideal candidate will have a strong technical tax background they can apply in unfamiliar jurisdictions, the organisation to run a high-volume lodgement calendar without a deadline slipping, and the confidence to question external advisors rather than take their work at face value.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Own the tax compliance tracker in Asana as the single source of truth for every obligation across the group, keeping due dates, statuses and owners current.
  • Prepare and lodge Australian obligations, including quarterly BAS, the annual income tax return, the R&D Tax Incentive claim, FBT, Employee Share Scheme reporting and TPAR, with support from our external tax advisors.
  • Coordinate US federal, state and payroll tax filings with advisors and our payroll provider, and maintain sales tax registrations and nexus positions.
  • Coordinate corporate income tax, payroll and indirect tax filings for group entities outside Australia and the US, including Canada and Israel.
  • Assess registration and permanent establishment exposure when Traild hires, contracts or sells into a new jurisdiction, and escalate technical positions early.
  • Coordinate the annual transfer pricing memo refresh and keep intercompany agreements current as the group structure changes.
  • Prepare ASIC lodgements, corporate register updates and board resolution templates for Legal to review and file.
  • Coordinate the annual insurance renewal cycle with our broker, compiling the financial, headcount and risk information each policy needs, for Legal's sign-off.
  • Maintain the compliance evidence archive in SharePoint so signed returns, workpapers and lodgement confirmations are retrievable for audit.
  • Write and maintain SOPs for every recurring filing, so the process holds up as new entities and obligations are added.
  • Monitor tax legislation changes across the jurisdictions Traild operates in and flag what they mean for the group.

Who You Are:

  • Four or more years in corporate tax and compliance, ideally built in a Big 4 or mid-tier practice, including work on Australian client obligations.
  • A degree in accounting, tax or finance. CA, CPA or equivalent qualification preferred.
  • Strong enough on tax fundamentals to apply legislation you have not worked with before. We do not expect experience in every jurisdiction we operate in.
  • Deadline-driven and organised. You know what is due this month across every entity, and nobody needs to ask you for a status update.
  • Comfortable managing external advisors: chasing them, questioning advice that does not stack up, and building in enough time for proper review before lodgement.
  • Experience with Xero, Asana and SharePoint, or close equivalents. Exposure to Anrok or another US sales tax platform is a bonus.
  • Happy working independently in a small finance team, and comfortable raising a better way of doing something rather than working around the problem.
  • Clear written and spoken English, with the judgement to know what to handle alone and what to escalate.
  • Strong collaborator with an attitude embracing growth, hands-on execution, adaptability, and the scale-up spirit.

The Perks of Working at Traild

  • Flexibility: we offer a range of remote, hybrid and flexible working options.

  • Global team: we are growing across APAC, NA and EMEA and have team all across the world.

  • We are growing at an exponential rate, this is an opportunity to get involved with a true rocketship with all the excitement and opportunities that comes with it

  • Our team genuinely loves working at Traild: our eNPS score is 78, where anything above 50 is considered world-class.

Please note that the final applicants for this job will be asked to consent in writing to a police check / criminal background check to the extent permitted by law in your jurisdiction of employment. Please note that Traild is an E-Verify employer.
