Job description

Are you an experienced HVAC technician looking to work close to the Northeast Illinois & Northwest Indiana suburbs? Look no further!

We are looking to hire a detail-oriented HVAC Technician to install, maintain and repair commercial HVAC systems. The HVAC technician will be skilled in starting, adjusting, and repairing systems. You will be responsible for the mechanical systems from installation to end-of-life by performing quality startups, maintenance, warranty, and emergency repairs. Servicing areas of Chicagoland and Northwest Indiana.

To be successful in this role: Customer satisfaction, safety, and quality should be your top priority. Ideal candidates will be patient and have excellent organizational and troubleshooting skills.

HVAC Technician Responsibilities:

  • Installing, maintaining, and repairing commercial heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems and equipment.
  • Performing preventative maintenance.
  • Diagnosing electrical and mechanical faults for HVAC systems.
  • Cleaning, adjusting, and repairing systems, and performing warranty services.
  • Performing emergency repairs promptly and efficiently.
  • Providing technical direction and on-the-job training.
  • Ensuring compliance with appliance standards and with the Occupational Health and Safety Act.
  • Complying with service standards, work instructions, and customers' requirements.
  • Assisting with customers' inquiries.

HVAC Technician Requirements:

  • High school diploma or equivalent, Trade school diploma.
  • 5+ year experience as an HVAC technician, and willingness to continue education in HVAC field. Experience working on AAON equipment is a plus.
  • Valid driver’s license.
  • Understanding of advanced principles of air conditioning, refrigeration, and heating.
  • Working knowledge of boiler systems.
  • Working Knowledge of chilled water systems.
  • Excellent written, verbal, and interpersonal skills.
  • Proficient in reading schematics and work plans.
  • Ability to work after hours, over weekends, and on public holidays with short or no notice.
  • Proper clothing and prepared to work outside all year long.
  • Personal hand tools.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: Dependent on experience (salary range: $50-$57 an hour plus bonus opportunities and benefits)
