Job description

Setup and Location: Onsite (Ortigas, Cebu, Pampanga & Alabang)
Work Schedule: 9:00 AM – 6:00 PM AEST | 7:00 AM – 4:00 PM PHT
Employment Type: Full-time

Ready to do work that actually excites you?
The client is a multidisciplinary design studio working across residential and commercial projects. The team is currently growing and has several projects in pricing, creating an opportunity for a highly experienced architectural professional to join the business remotely and work closely with the local design team and project coordinators.

This is an internal, non-client-facing position. The successful candidate will typically be paired with a designer across multiple projects and will report directly to the Director or a nominated designer depending on the project.

About the Role
We are seeking a Senior Architectural Documenter / Architect with a strong residential background and experience working on Australian projects. You will be responsible for producing highly detailed and fully resolved construction documentation with minimal
supervision. The role requires someone who can confidently take drawings from design development through to comprehensive documentation while maintaining a high level of technical accuracy.

The ideal candidate is someone who can work independently, make sound technical decisions, and maintain quality and productivity even when working without immediate day-to-day direction.

  • Key Responsibilities:
Prepare comprehensive architectural construction documentation packages with minimal supervision.
  • Develop detailed and fully resolved drawing sets rather than diagrammatic or indicative documentation.
  • Produce documentation across residential and, where required, commercial projects.
  • Translate design concepts into technically accurate construction documentation.
  • Develop detailed architectural solutions covering:
    • Foundations
    • Floors
    • Walls
    • Ceilings
    • Roofs
    • Openings
    • Stairs
    • Joinery
    • Lighting
  • Coordinate architectural and interior detailing as part of an integrated documentation process.
  • Produce and maintain accurate 3D models in ArchiCAD.
  • Coordinate documentation with designers and project coordinators.
  • Review drawings for accuracy, completeness and constructability.
  • Identify and resolve documentation issues independently.
  • Carry work forward independently when working without immediate access to the local design team.
  • Maintain clear written and verbal communication with the wider team.

Requirements

What You Bring
We’re looking for someone who:
Architectural Experience
  • 6+ years of industry experience in architecture and/or architectural documentation.
  • Strong experience in residential architecture, particularly detailed construction documentation.
  • Demonstrated experience working on Australian projects.
  • Experience preparing comprehensive construction drawing sets with minimal supervision.
  • Strong understanding of the relationship between architectural design, documentation and construction.
ArchiCAD
  • Strong proficiency in ArchiCAD.
  • Demonstrated experience using ArchiCAD for both 3D modelling and documentation, not documentation
  • alone.
  • Ability to develop and maintain accurate, coordinated 3D models.
  • Experience with ArchiCAD 27 or later is highly desirable, with the version to be validated during screening.

Technical Documentation
  • Strong construction detailing capability across architectural elements including foundations, floors, walls, ceilings, roofs, openings and stairs.
  • Experience detailing interiors including floors, walls, ceilings, openings, joinery and lighting.
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to produce highly resolved documentation.
  • Ability to interpret designs and develop practical construction solutions.

Australian Standards & Compliance
  • Working knowledge of the National Construction Code (NCC) and relevant Australian Standards.
  • Australian approval pathway experience, particularly DA, CDC and CC, is highly desirable.
  • Experience with Australian compliance requirements is strongly preferred.
  • Experience with Class 2 and Class 3 buildings is advantageous.
  • Knowledge of Australian waterproofing and fire compliance detailing is advantageous.

Communication & Working Style
The successful candidate will be:
  • Highly detail-oriented and technically minded.
  • Efficient and accurate when managing a high volume of documentation.
  • Comfortable working independently with minimal supervision.
  • Confident making technical decisions and progressing work autonomously.
  • Comfortable working remotely as part of an Australian design team.
  • Able to communicate clearly in written and spoken English.
  • Comfortable working 9:00 AM–5:00 PM Sydney time.
  • Able to work independently on Fridays, when the local studio team is not available for immediate questions or review, and appropriately park non-urgent queries until the team returns on Monday.
What We’re Looking For
The strongest candidates will bring a combination of:
  • Australian project experience + strong residential documentation experience + ArchiCAD proficiency + strong technical detailing capability.
  • We are particularly interested in professionals who have worked within an Australian architectural practice and understand the level of documentation, coordination and technical resolution expected in the Australian market.
  • Assessment Process
    • Shortlisted candidates may be asked to complete a technical assessment designed to evaluate their construction documentation and detailing capability.
