Job description

Job Description:

WHO WE ARE AND WHAT WE DO:

Radiology Partners has a history of high growth which has created its leadership position. Going forward, our strategy is to continue growth in the core business of professional radiology. However, to truly transform Radiology and to continue to achieve aggressive growth targets, we recognize the importance of investments and explorations into adjacencies that are not directly related to their core business. Examples include artificial intelligence, data partnerships, outpatient imaging, etc.

The AVP, Corporate Strategy is a senior leader who owns the enterprise growth and strategy agenda across the Practice, partnering directly with the Executive Team, Division Presidents, and the Board. Reporting to the VP, Corporate Strategy, the AVP sets long-range strategic direction, leads the corporate planning process, and builds and leads a high-performing strategy team that shapes how RP evaluates growth, adjacencies, and enterprise risk. The AVP is accountable for translating strategy into executed outcomes across the Practice’s clinical, business, and technology initiatives, and for developing the next generation of strategy leaders within the function.

AVP, CORPORATE STRATEGY - POSITION SUMMARY:

  • Defines and owns the Practice-wide long-term strategic agenda; leads the corporate annual and long-range planning process and sets the framework RP uses to evaluate growth, adjacencies, and enterprise risk.

  • Serves as a principal strategic advisor to the Executive Team and Division Presidents, shaping decisions on the most consequential growth and investment questions facing the Practice.

  • Leads enterprise competitive strategy and market intelligence, and sets the analytical standards used in pricing, positioning, and strategic briefs.

  • Owns the strategy and evaluation of innovation and growth partnerships (e.g., AI, data, pharma, outpatient imaging), from sourcing and diligence through negotiation strategy and executive recommendation.

  • Directs the quantitative evaluation of major initiatives and capital-allocation decisions, ensuring recommendations on profitability, risk, and prioritization are decision-ready and aligned to enterprise strategy.

  • Leads a portfolio of high-priority strategic initiatives end to end, working with the Practice’s leaders, executives, and stakeholders, including building business cases for new product lines and businesses, incubating early ideas through pilot, and stewarding their transition into a permanent operational home

  • Owns executive- and board-level strategy deliverables, including board strategy sessions, market development strategy, and enterprise priority setting

  • Drives cross-functional alignment across clinical, business, and technology leaders to mobilize the organization behind strategic priorities

  • Builds, leads, and develops the Corporate Strategy team, including hiring and growing talent and developing other leaders within the function (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, performance management)

  • Promotes communication and cooperation among teammates to create a spirit of unity in the department

  • Works closely with leadership and teammates to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention

  • Provides day-to-day performance management guidance to direct reports (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions)

  • Performs other duties as assigned

  • Up to 25% travel, as needed.

DESIRED PROFESSIONAL SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Strategy Leadership Experience: The ideal candidate will have 10+ years of progressive experience in corporate strategy, strategy consulting, or corporate development, including several years leading strategy teams and initiatives. Experience at a top-tier management consulting firm and/or in an in-house corporate strategy leadership role is strongly preferred. An MBA or equivalent advanced degree is preferred.

  • Relevant Industry Experience:The ideal candidate will have been exposed to multiple disciplines within healthcare and/or life sciences. Examples may include EMR/EHR, PACS imaging, payment tech, etc.

  • Enterprise Impact: A demonstrated track record of owning growth and operational strategy at the enterprise level and translating it into executed outcomes, not just project-level analysis.

  • Structured and Logical Thinking: The ability to frame ambiguous, enterprise-scale problems and build the strategic, analytical, and financial frameworks, and the execution plans, the organization uses to make decisions.

  • Analytical Leadership: The ability to direct and quality-assure highly complex quantitative analysis and to set the analytical standards for the team; strong command of financial and analytical tools.
