Job Summary

The Food Service Worker supports hospital food service operations by safely assembling, distributing, and serving meals to patients, visitors, and staff.

This role plays an important part in maintaining high standards of customer service, sanitation, and food safety in a fast-paced environment.

This position does not provide direct patient care.


 

Qualifications

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare, assemble, and serve meals for patient tray line, cafeteria, and kitchen operations
  • Set up, stock, and maintain food service stations for meal service
  • Deliver and retrieve patient meal trays
  • Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of work areas, equipment, and supplies
  • Follow HACCP and department food safety standards
  • Provide friendly, responsive customer service and resolve concerns promptly
  • Assist with food preparation for patient tray line
  • Operate dish machines, trash compactors, and perform routine cleaning tasks
  • Monitor inventory and report shortages or discrepancies
  • Support department goals to improve efficiency and customer satisfaction
  • Participate in meetings, trainings, and assigned sanitation projects
  • Assist with training and cross-training of team members
