The Workday Integrations Engineer is responsible for the design, development, implementation, and support of integrations between Workday and internal/external systems. This role partners closely with HR, Finance, IT and third-party vendors to ensure secure, reliable and scalable data exchanges that support critical business operations. The ideal candidate will be Workday certified, a self-starter, have strong change and project management skills, and the ability to work independently and in a fast-paced team environment.

Qualifications Education Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems, computer science or related field (or equivalent work experience.) Licenses/Certifications Required:

• Workday Integrations Certification(s)

Work Experience Required:

• 10+ years of experience in building, testing, maintaining, and supporting data integrations.

• 6+ years of hands-on Workday integrations development and support experience in a production environment.

• Proficiency in EIB, XsLT, DT, Core Connectors, Cloud Connect, Studio, Workday Web Services (SOAP/REST APIs).

• Strong understanding of Workday HCM and Financial data models, including Worker, Position, Compensation, Pay Group, GL, Supplier Accounts, Banking, and Expenses.

• Working knowledge of Workday Security concepts including domain and business process security policies, security groups, and ISU configuration.

• Proficiency in creating complex calculated fields and reports.

• Understanding of change management and Agile methodologies.

Preferred Qualifications, Education, Licenses, Certifications, Experience, etc.: • Familiarity with Workday Extend for advanced workflow and integration use cases.

• Understanding of HIPAA requirements related to handling HCM and clinical workforce data.

• Previous experience in the health care industry.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Strong technical expertise in Workday integrations (EIB, XSLT, DT, Core Connectors, Studio, SOAP/REST).

• Experience supporting integrations across Workday HCM and Financials.

• Ability to gather and translate business requirements into scalable, reliable integration solutions.

• Proficiency with web services and APIs.

• Advanced skills in Workday calculated fields and report creation.

• Strong ability to prioritize work, manage time independently, and follow through on tasks.

• Comfort working in fast-paced environments with shifting priorities.

• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.

• Basic project management skills, including scoping work, planning tasks, and communicating progress.

• This role involves interaction and collaboration with other departments and requires excellent judgment and interpersonal skills.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Design, build, test, deploy, and maintain Workday integrations using EIB, XSLT, Document Transformation, Core Connectors, Cloud Connect, Studio, and Workday Web Services (SOAP/REST APIs). • Develop and support inbound and outbound integrations across Workday HCM, Payroll, Benefits, Finance, and various third-party vendors. • Partner with Workday analysts and business stakeholders to gather integration requirements and translate them into scalable technical designs. • Own the full integration lifecycle, including requirements gathering, functional and technical design, development, UAT, deployment, and post-production support. • Build Workday reports and calculated fields to support integrations and assess interface performance and data quality. • Troubleshoot and resolve integration issues such as data mapping errors, system connection failures, and upstream/downstream disruptions. • Create and maintain comprehensive technical documentation, including data mappings, interface specifications, configuration details, and support materials. • Support Workday bi-annual releases by assessing potential impacts, conducting regression testing, and implementing required updates. • Manage work using Jira/Zendesk, ensuring regular communication regarding task status, timelines, risks, and challenges to relevant stakeholders. • Lead small to medium-sized projects, ensuring requirements, timelines, and deliverables are met. • Identify and recommend process and system improvements to enhance efficiency, data quality, and user experience. • Stay current on Workday enhancements and industry best practices to drive continuous improvement. • Ensure all integrations comply with data privacy, security, and audit requirements, aligning with organizational and regulatory standards.

Physical Requirements • Office Environment: Tasks may be conducted within a climate-controlled office setting. • Physical Activity: The role may require the ability to lift, carry, push, or pull materials, supplies, and equipment (up to 20 lbs.). Duties typically involve a combination of sitting, standing, and walking, with frequent changes in position. • Travel: Travel may be required, including travel between facility locations, remote facilities, and out-of-town destinations as needed.
