Job description

The equipment that runs a Whistle site is complex, constantly moving, and genuinely interesting. We will teach you everything.

A Whistle Express site runs on complex, constantly moving equipment. The tunnels, vacuum systems, chemical dispensers, conveyors, and mechanical infrastructure that power the guest experience are sophisticated - and keeping them running at peak performance is one of the most critical jobs in the company.

As a Maintenance Technician, you are the reason the site does not go down. You diagnose problems fast, fix them right, and leave things better than you found them. You will cover multiple sites across your market, which means no two days look the same, and the work is always real.

No degree required. Just mechanical curiosity and a willingness to go deep. We will build the rest.Key Responsibilities - Repairs & Troubleshooting: Diagnosing and fixing mechanical, electrical, and plumbing problems; repairing or replacing defective parts. - Preventive Maintenance: Conducting routine checks, servicing equipment, and performing scheduled upkeep to prevent breakdowns. - System Management: Monitoring and maintaining HVAC, electrical, and other building systems. - Inspections: Regularly inspecting equipment and facilities to ensure safety and code compliance. - Documentation: Keeping detailed records of maintenance activities and repairs. - Emergency Response: Promptly responding to urgent maintenance requests. Inventory: Managing spare parts and tools.  Essential Skills & Qualifications - Technical Skills: Proficiency with hand/power tools, diagnostics, and repair of various systems (mechanical, electrical, plumbing). - Problem-Solving: Strong ability to identify issues and find effective solutions. - Attention to Detail: Crucial for thorough inspections and accurate repairs. - Physical Ability: Capable of physical tasks required for maintenance work. - Communication: Effectively collaborating with teams and documenting work. - Education: Often requires a high school diploma/GED, with relevant certifications or degrees beneficial.  Work Environment - Can work in multiple locations across a geographic market. - May involve regular shifts, evenings, weekends, or on-call duty for emergencies. What We’re Looking Forβ€― We hire for how people think and how they learn. Everything else we can build. - You are mechanically curious. When something breaks, your first instinct is to figure out why - not call someone else. - You are comfortable with hand and power tools and have experience diagnosing mechanical, electrical, or plumbing systems. - You are physically capable and ready for active, hands-on work across multiple sites. - You are detail-oriented. A thorough inspection is the difference between a fix and a repeat call. - You can work a flexible schedule, including evenings, weekends, and on-call shifts when required. - High school diploma or GED required. Relevant certifications or trade experience are a strong plus but not a barrier to entry. The technical backbone of every site. The team that keeps Whistle running. We are building the training infrastructure to develop great technicians from the ground up. If you like working with your hands, solving real problems, and seeing the results of your work, this is the role that rewards all of it
