Description:

CTG is seeking to fill an ADMS Functional Architect position for our client.

 

Location: Remote
Duration: 7 months

 

Duties:

  • Review current operational applications and conduct impact assessments across OMS, SCADA, GIS, CIS, Asset Management, Customer Portals, and related utility applications.

  • Revalidate application capabilities, limitations, dependencies, and roles within existing operational workflows against prioritized business and technical workflows.

  • Review future-state ADMS application capability requirements and identify where application upgrades, replacements, enhancements, or integrations are required.

  • Assess application impacts within the context of planned data and integration changes.

  • Partner with Business Analysts and Integration Architects to map prioritized ADMS workflows to supporting applications.

  • Ensure operational workflows are technically feasible within the target-state ADMS architecture.

  • Document application-level dependencies, inputs, outputs, interfaces, and functional requirements for prioritized workflows.

  • Collaborate with Integration Architects to ensure applications are prepared for ADMS integration and identify functionality or capability gaps.

  • Support strategic and technical planning for ADMS transformation initiatives.

  • Evaluate how application capabilities align with real-time operations, operational decision-making, and long-term analytics requirements.

  • Identify opportunities to improve application interoperability, workflow efficiency, and data availability across utility systems.

  • Support the development and validation of future-state application architecture, integration requirements, and transformation roadmaps.

  • Ensure application and workflow recommendations consider applicable utility industry standards, security requirements, and regulatory/compliance considerations.

Skills:

  • Deep knowledge of utility operational technology (OT) and information technology (IT) applications, including OMS, SCADA, GIS, CIS, DERMS, Asset Management, and customer-facing applications.

  • Strong understanding of ADMS concepts, architecture, capabilities, and utility operational workflows.

  • Strong understanding of outage management, distribution operations, switching, asset tracking, customer communications, and related utility processes.

  • Ability to assess current-state application capabilities and identify functional gaps against future-state ADMS requirements.

  • Experience with application integration, interfaces, data flows, and integration standards/protocols used in utility environments.

  • Strong business and technical analysis skills with the ability to translate operational requirements into application capabilities and technical requirements.

  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills with Business Analysts, Integration Architects, technical teams, and business stakeholders.

  • Ability to document complex application dependencies, workflows, interfaces, inputs, and outputs clearly.

  • Understanding of real-time operational requirements and the relationship between operational systems and analytics platforms.

  • Familiarity with utility compliance, security, and regulatory requirements affecting application data and business processes.

Experience:

  • 8+ years of experience working with utility applications, enterprise architecture, solution architecture, functional architecture, or related technology disciplines.

  • Experience supporting ADMS, OMS, SCADA, GIS, CIS, DERMS, or other utility operational transformation initiatives.

  • Proven experience performing application capability assessments, impact assessments, gap analyses, and future-state planning.

  • Experience mapping business and operational workflows to enterprise applications and technology solutions.

  • Experience working in cross-functional teams involving business analysts, integration architects, enterprise architects, and utility operations stakeholders.

  • Experience with utility application integration and data exchange patterns.

  • Experience supporting large-scale application modernization, transformation, or systems integration initiatives is preferred.

  • Experience working with real-time utility operations and distribution management processes is highly desirable.

Education:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, Business, or a related field.

  • Equivalent combination of education, training, and relevant professional experience may be considered.

  • Relevant utility, architecture, or technology certifications are a plus.

Excellent verbal and written English communication skills and the ability to interact professionally with a diverse group are required.

The expected base salary for this position ranges from $135,000 to $156,000. Salary offers are based on a wide range of factors including relevant skills, training, experience, education, market factors, and where applicable, licensure or certifications obtained. In addition to salary, a competitive benefit package is also offered.
