Role Summary

ExploreGod is a Christian nonprofit dedicated to using technology to share the gospel and help people grow in their faith. We reach millions of people worldwide through digital channels, empowering them to connect with Jesus and deepen their spiritual journey.

The Global Discipleship Trainer is a key role in equipping and empowering volunteers to disciple Seekers using technology. Our remote volunteer force is diverse and passionate, ready to respond to questions from Seekers all over the world and eager to learn ways to effectively respond and disciple in the Christian faith. The Global Discipleship Trainer will create and execute training resources such as online courses, live training sessions, and downloadable resources for best practices in using GMO’s technology platforms to effectively disciple Seekers. The resources will be translated and contextualized in partnership with our language teams around the world.

This is a full-time fully remote position that will require travel around six times per year.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement online training programs and materials to encourage digital discipleship relationships.
  • Conduct training sessions, workshops, and seminars.
  • Assess and analyze training needs through surveys and interviews.
  • Evaluate the effectiveness of training programs and make necessary adjustments.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of training trends and best practices.
  • Manage Learning Management System, updating and administrating courses and user profiles as needed.
  • Collaborate with Volunteer Coordinators to identify skill gaps and training requirements.
  • Identify subject matter experts to help create or speak into training materials.
  • Monitor and report on volunteer progress and performance post-training.

Job Requirements

  • Strong ability to communicate and teach clearly in virtual and cross-cultural settings
  • Ability to assess training needs and translate them into practical learning experiences
  • Strong organizational and project management skills
  • Ability to manage multiple training projects, deadlines, and stakeholders
  • Experience collaborating with subject-matter experts and international teams
  • Ability to evaluate training effectiveness and make improvements based on feedback and performance data
  • Comfortable learning and administering digital training platforms and tools

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, such as Education, Ministry, or Nonprofit Management.
  • Minimum of 4 years of experience training volunteers, ideally in a ministry or nonprofit setting.
  • Experience living, serving, or working in a multi-cultural context.
  • Passion for seeing spiritual growth through relationship building.
  • Experience managing e-learning platforms and learning new technology.
  • Proven track record, showing the ability to successfully complete the full training cycle (assess needs, plan, develop, coordinate, monitor and evaluate). 
  • Strong public speaking and presentation skills, especially over virtual platforms.
  • Proven ability to design and implement effective training programs.
  • Knowledge of adult learning principles and practices.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Familiarity with learning management systems and online training tools.
  • Industry certifications in areas such as instructional design, curriculum development, performance improvement, etc.

  • This position is fully remote.

  • Domestic and international travel may be required.
