The Opportunity:

TalkingPoints is seeking a Finance & Accounting Intern to support our growing operations team. This is a hands-on role with exposure to real-world accounting systems, payroll operations, and financial reconciliation. The intern will work closely with our finance team, helping maintain accuracy across our financial processes during a period of growth and system modernization. 


In this role, you will:

  • Process and categorize corporate card transactions; assist with expense reviews, reimbursement approvals, and receipt follow-up
  • Bank/credit card reconciliation support — matching Ramp transactions to QBO, flagging unmatched or duplicate charges
  • Vendor invoice processing — data entry, coding to the right GL account/class, routing for approval
  • 1099 prep support — collecting W-9s, tracking vendor payment totals ahead of year-end (good seasonal task if they're around into Q4)
  • Filing/document organization — keeping the Google Drive or QBO attachment records tidy, naming conventions for receipts and invoices
  • Assisting with grant/restricted fund tracking — maintaining various grant schedules, TRNA schedules to ensure grant funds are fully recognized.
  • Help maintain balance sheet accounts and flag discrepancies
  • Assist with month-end reporting, including accruals, journal entries, and closing schedule preparation
  • Provide general support to the finance department as needed; must be flexible and willing to assist the team with a variety of tasks
  • Optimize use of AI to expand and improve the finance team’s efficiency.


Who You Are:

  • Experience: 3+ years of relevant accounting, bookkeeping, administration or finance-related education.
  • Tech-Savvy: Comfortable working with RAMP, QBO, Mosaic, and Salesforce, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
  • Detail-Oriented: High level of accuracy and attention to detail in data entry and financial transactions.
  • Organized & Efficient: Able to manage multiple tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently in a remote or hybrid environment.
  • Collaborative &
    Communicative: Strong verbal and written communication skills with a team-oriented approach.

The hourly rate range is $20-$22, depending on experience. This is a temporary, hourly position that will begin as part-time (up to 29 hours per week).
