📝 Work Description

We are looking for a skilled and motivated 3D Artist to join our Scenery Team. In this role, you will be responsible for crafting detailed, optimized, and immersive 3D environments—primarily focused on airport scenery—for Microsoft Flight Simulator. You’ll work closely with a passionate group of artists and developers to bring real-world airports to life in the simulator with visual accuracy and technical precision.

  • Model high-quality buildings, airport infrastructure, and environmental elements using photo and satellite references, charts, and blueprints.
  • Create realistic textures and materials using industry-standard tools and workflows.
  • Optimize assets for performance across a wide range of systems, including efficient UV mapping and LOD creation.
  • Ensure assets integrate seamlessly with the Microsoft Flight Simulator SDK and tools as per internal documentation.
  • Collaborate with the team to resolve technical and visual issues during asset implementation.
  • Follow internal standards and naming conventions to maintain consistency across projects.


Requirements

  • Proficiency in 3D modeling using Autodesk 3ds Max, Maya or Blender.
  • Strong understanding of environmental modeling and texturing techniques with a focus on realism and accuracy.
  • Experience working from various types of reference material to recreate real-world locations.
  • Familiarity with asset optimization, including creating LODs and texture atlases.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a team setting.
  • Comfortable with the English language for all work-related communication.


💪 Preferred Qualifications & Traits

  • Previous experience with airport or city environment modeling.
  • Personal interest in aviation, simulation, or gaming.
  • Experience using the Microsoft Flight Simulator SDK, in-game DevTools, and scenery placement systems.
  • Familiarity with the quirks and requirements of MSFS-specific exports, lighting, and material setups.


🛠️ Software Proficiency

  • Autodesk 3ds Max, Maya or Blender.
  • Adobe Photoshop, Substance Painter 3D, or similar applications relevant to the texturing pipeline.
