Interior Designer / Architect (Intermediate to Senior)

Job Overview: We are seeking an intermediate to senior-level Interior Designer or Architect who can effectively translate conceptual design into design development and construction documentation while maintaining design integrity throughout all project phases. The ideal candidate is skilled in space planning and capable of producing detailed millwork and architectural drawings, with strong proficiency in CAD. This role requires someone who can follow direction accurately while also taking the initiative to lead the drawing and documentation aspects of a project when appropriate.

Key Responsibilities

• Translate conceptual designs into detailed design development packages and construction documentation.
• Maintain design integrity and intent through all project phases, from concept through construction administration.
• Develop space plans that balance functional requirements, aesthetic goals, and technical constraints.
• Produce detailed millwork drawings, including plans, elevations, sections, and construction details.
• Create accurate architectural drawings and complete construction document sets in CAD.
• Coordinate with project leads, consultants, and other team members to resolve design and technical questions.
• Review drawings for completeness, accuracy, and compliance with applicable codes and standards.
• Take ownership of the drawing and documentation process on assigned projects, leading coordination when appropriate.
• Follow project direction accurately and communicate proactively on progress, blockers, and design decisions.
• Incorporate feedback from senior designers, clients, and project stakeholders into iterative drawing updates.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Interior Design, Architecture, or a related field.
• Intermediate to senior-level experience (typically 5+ years) in interior design or architecture, with a portfolio demonstrating design development and construction documentation work.
• Strong space planning skills across a range of project types.
• Demonstrated ability to produce detailed millwork and architectural drawings.
• Proficiency in CAD required (AutoCAD); experience with Revit, SketchUp, or similar software is a plus.
• Solid understanding of construction methods, materials, and detailing standards.
• Proven ability to maintain design integrity from concept through construction.
• Strong attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple drawing sets concurrently.
• Able to follow direction accurately while taking initiative to lead drawing and documentation efforts when appropriate.
• Clear written and verbal communication skills for remote collaboration.
