Job description

We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for experienced transaction advisory and valuation professionals with hands-on expertise in M&A, financial due diligence, quality of earnings, business valuation, and deal modelling.

This role supports an advanced AI initiative focused on translating real-world transaction and valuation workflows into structured evaluation materials. Selected professionals will develop realistic deal scenarios, review model-generated analyses, assess financial assumptions and conclusions, and provide detailed written feedback grounded in professional M&A and valuation practice.

Key Responsibilities

Financial Due Diligence & QoE Analysis

  • Design realistic scenarios involving quality-of-earnings analyses and financial due diligence
  • Develop tasks covering recurring and non-recurring adjustments, revenue quality, EBITDA normalisation, and earnings sustainability
  • Review working-capital and net-debt analyses
  • Identify unsupported adjustments, incomplete diligence findings, and inconsistencies in financial conclusions
  • Evaluate whether analyses reflect sound transaction advisory judgment

Valuation & Financial Modelling

  • Create and review discounted cash flow, comparable company, and precedent transaction analyses
  • Develop deal, merger, and leveraged buyout models
  • Assess assumptions involving growth, margins, discount rates, capital structure, and terminal value
  • Review model mechanics, formulas, sensitivities, and valuation conclusions
  • Identify calculation errors, unrealistic assumptions, and methodological weaknesses

Purchase Accounting & Deal Analysis

  • Develop scenarios involving purchase price allocation and ASC 805
  • Review the identification and valuation of acquired assets, liabilities, and intangible assets
  • Assess goodwill calculations and transaction-related accounting considerations
  • Evaluate deal structures, sources and uses, financing assumptions, and post-transaction impacts

AI Output Evaluation & Feedback

  • Review and compare AI-generated transaction advisory and valuation outputs
  • Assess analytical accuracy, defensibility of assumptions, and professional judgment
  • Identify technical errors, missing considerations, and unsupported recommendations
  • Provide clear written feedback explaining strengths, weaknesses, and required corrections
  • Collaborate asynchronously with research and quality-review teams

Ideal Profile

Strong candidates may have:

  • Professional experience in transaction advisory, financial due diligence, valuation, corporate development, or investment banking
  • Big Four transaction advisory, boutique advisory, or comparable deal experience
  • Hands-on ownership of quality-of-earnings analyses, valuation models, or deal models
  • Strong understanding of working capital, net debt, EBITDA adjustments, and transaction mechanics
  • Experience developing or reviewing DCF, comparable company, precedent transaction, or LBO models
  • Excellent written communication and close attention to detail
  • Ability to work independently within an asynchronous project environment

Educational Background

  • A bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, economics, business, or a related discipline is highly relevant
  • CPA credentials may strengthen an application
  • ASA, ABV, CFA, or another recognised valuation qualification may be valuable
  • An MBA, master's degree, or advanced transaction advisory training may also be considered

Nice to Have

  • Experience preparing or reviewing quality-of-earnings reports
  • Background in financial due diligence for buy-side or sell-side transactions
  • Familiarity with ASC 805 purchase accounting
  • Experience with purchase price allocation and intangible asset valuation
  • Knowledge of corporate development, private equity, or investment banking workflows
  • Advanced financial modelling and spreadsheet skills
  • Previous involvement in task writing, rubric development, structured evaluation, or AI training-data work
  • Experience reviewing transaction or valuation work prepared by other professionals

Why This Opportunity

  • Apply transaction advisory and valuation expertise to advanced AI evaluation work
  • Develop realistic scenarios grounded in M&A and financial due diligence practice
  • Influence how AI systems reason through complex deal and valuation tasks
  • Review challenging outputs involving QoE, working capital, net debt, DCF, and purchase accounting
  • Participate in flexible remote work with competitive hourly compensation

Contract Details

  • Independent contractor role
  • Fully remote with flexible scheduling
  • Competitive rates between $75–$115 per hour depending on expertise and project scope
  • The application process may include a resume or professional-experience summary
