Job description

We are sharing a specialised part-time consulting opportunity for experienced equity research professionals with strong expertise analysing public-company financial information and extracting relevant data from SEC filings.

This role supports an advanced AI research initiative focused on applying professional equity research judgment to structured financial analysis tasks. Selected professionals will work with public filings, company disclosures, and investment-research materials while helping evaluate the quality, accuracy, and completeness of financial analysis outputs.

Key Responsibilities

Equity Research Analysis

  • Review public-company financial and operating information
  • Analyse company disclosures from an equity research perspective
  • Identify relevant financial, operational, and strategic information
  • Apply professional investment-research judgment to structured analytical tasks

SEC Filing Research

  • Analyse and extract information from public SEC filings
  • Review documents such as 10-Ks, 10-Qs, 8-Ks, and related company disclosures where relevant
  • Identify material financial, operational, and business information
  • Verify that conclusions are accurately supported by source documentation

Financial Information Evaluation

  • Assess the accuracy and completeness of financial analysis
  • Review interpretations of company performance, disclosures, and reported metrics
  • Identify missing, unsupported, or incorrectly interpreted information
  • Distinguish material findings from less relevant disclosure details

Structured Research & Quality Review

  • Complete research tasks according to defined project guidelines
  • Provide clear written reasoning supporting analytical conclusions
  • Evaluate outputs for accuracy, relevance, and professional research quality
  • Maintain consistent standards across repeated research assignments

Ideal Profile

Strong candidates may have:

  • At least 2 years of professional equity research experience
  • Experience working at a recognised equity research, investment, or financial-services firm
  • Hands-on experience analysing public SEC filings
  • Strong understanding of public-company financial statements and disclosures
  • Ability to extract and synthesise relevant information from complex filings
  • Strong financial analysis and investment-research judgment
  • Excellent written communication and attention to detail
  • Availability to contribute at least 10 hours per week
  • Current residence in the United States or Canada

Educational Background

  • A background in finance, accounting, economics, business, or a related discipline may be helpful
  • Equivalent professional experience in equity research or investment analysis may also be considered
  • Advanced financial training or relevant professional qualifications may strengthen an application

Nice to Have

  • Experience covering public equities across one or more industry sectors
  • Familiarity with financial modelling and valuation
  • Experience analysing earnings releases and investor presentations
  • Strong knowledge of SEC reporting requirements and public-company disclosure practices
  • Background in institutional equity research or investment management
  • Experience reviewing or quality-checking the work of other analysts
  • Previous exposure to AI evaluation, structured research, or financial data projects

Contract Details

  • Candidates must be based in the United States or Canada

  • Compensation of up to $115 per hour depending on expertise and project scope
  • Work may include SEC filing analysis, equity research, financial information extraction, and structured quality evaluation
  • Weekly payments via Stripe or Wise
  • Projects may be extended, shortened, or adjusted depending on scope and performance
  • Work will not involve access to confidential or proprietary information from any employer, client, or institution
