Job description

We are sharing a specialised remote consulting opportunity for experienced tax professionals with deep expertise in Dutch domestic tax law, including individual taxation, corporate taxation, VAT, and related regulatory frameworks.

This role supports advanced AI evaluation work focused on Dutch taxation. Selected experts will answer complex tax questions, assess AI-generated tax analyses, identify legal or technical inaccuracies, and provide structured feedback grounded in applicable legislation, case law, and official guidance.

Key Responsibilities

Dutch Domestic Tax Analysis

  • Analyse complex questions involving Dutch domestic tax law
  • Apply relevant legislation, case law, regulations, and official tax guidance
  • Evaluate issues across individual and corporate taxation
  • Assess tax positions for legal accuracy, completeness, and consistency
  • Identify situations where applicable guidance is ambiguous, conflicting, or incomplete

Corporate, Individual & VAT Taxation

  • Evaluate tax questions involving Dutch Income Tax and Corporate Income Tax
  • Review VAT-related analyses and domestic indirect-tax considerations
  • Assess compliance, planning, and interpretation issues across different taxpayer scenarios
  • Review the application of domestic tax rules to complex factual situations
  • Identify unsupported assumptions or incorrect interpretations of Dutch tax legislation

Tax Research & Legal Interpretation

  • Interpret Dutch tax statutes, regulations, case law, and administrative guidance
  • Assess whether conclusions are appropriately supported by relevant tax authority
  • Identify gaps in legal reasoning or missing source support
  • Distinguish well-founded tax interpretations from incomplete or inaccurate conclusions
  • Provide clear written explanations of complex tax issues

AI Evaluation & Quality Review

  • Review AI-generated tax analyses for legal accuracy, completeness, and clarity
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete responses and explain required revisions
  • Evaluate the quality and structure of tax reasoning
  • Apply project-specific rubrics and evaluation standards consistently
  • Participate in calibration and feedback processes to improve evaluation consistency
  • Identify recurring errors and weaknesses in AI-generated Dutch tax analysis

Ideal Profile

  • 5+ years of professional experience advising on Dutch domestic taxation
  • Strong knowledge of Dutch Income Tax, Corporate Income Tax, VAT, and related domestic tax legislation
  • Professional experience within a Big Four firm, tax advisory practice, law firm, corporate tax department, the Dutch Tax Administration (Belastingdienst), or a comparable environment
  • Strong ability to interpret Dutch tax statutes, regulations, case law, and official guidance
  • Experience advising on tax compliance, planning, disputes, or interactions with tax authorities
  • Excellent analytical skills and ability to evaluate detailed legal and tax reasoning
  • Native or professional fluency in Dutch
  • Strong written English proficiency is advantageous
  • NOB, RB, or an equivalent Dutch tax-advisory qualification is highly valued
  • Master's degree in Tax Law, Fiscal Economics, Accounting, or a related discipline is advantageous
  • Experience with complex tax controversy, tax planning, legal-content review, quality assurance, or AI/LLM evaluation is particularly relevant

Engagement Details

  • Fully remote independent contractor engagement
  • Flexible scheduling based on project requirements
  • Compensation: $90–$120/hour
  • Projects may be extended, shortened, or concluded based on project needs and performance
  • Work must be completed without using confidential or proprietary information belonging to any employer, client, tax authority, institution, or other third party
  • H1-B and STEM OPT support is unavailable for this engagement
