Job description

Linus Health is a Boston-based digital health company focused on transforming brain health for people across the world. By advancing how we detect and address cognitive and brain disorders – leveraging cutting-edge neuroscience, clinical expertise, and artificial intelligence – our goal is to enable a future where people can live longer, happier, and healthier lives with better brain health.

The Role:

We are seeking a UX Researcher to support the design, validation, and improvement of consumer-oriented product experiences at Linus Health.

This role will help the team understand how people engage with brain health products, including patients, participants, consumers, caregivers, and partner-referred users. You may also support research with clinicians, partners, and internal stakeholders connected to how these experiences are delivered.

You will plan and conduct practical research, synthesize insights clearly, and help cross-functional teams make confident product decisions.

This is a strong fit for a hands-on researcher who brings a consumer product mindset, can balance rigor with speed, works well in ambiguity, and communicates findings in a way that drives action.

What you'll do

  • Plan and conduct generative and evaluative research to inform product strategy, design direction, and roadmap decisions
  • Test consumer-facing concepts, prototypes, and product experiences across key user journeys
  • Assess user understanding of key concepts and next steps
  • Conduct usability testing, concept testing, interviews, and mixed-methods research
  • Support research with end users of the experience, as well as stakeholders and partner-referred populations connected to how the experience is delivered
  • Help identify barriers to trust, comprehension, completion, engagement, retention, and willingness to return over time
  • Partner with Product Design and Product Management to clarify research questions, shape study plans, and translate findings into product decisions
  • Work with Clinical and Compliance stakeholders to evaluate language, tone, health literacy, consent comprehension, and perceived credibility
  • Synthesize findings into clear, actionable insights and recommendations
  • Identify patterns across qualitative feedback, usability observations, engagement metrics, and product behavior data where available
  • Contribute to research operations, including participant criteria, recruitment planning, interview logistics, consent processes, note-taking, synthesis, and documentation
  • Help define success metrics for usability, comprehension, engagement, trust, accessibility, and long-term value
  • Share findings in a way that helps cross functional groups align around user needs

About You:

Must Haves:

  • 4+ years of UX research experience in digital products (preferred: healthcare, consumer health, life sciences, wellness, or similar)
  • Experience conducting usability testing, concept testing, interviews, and mixed-methods user research
  • Strong ability to turn ambiguous product questions into focused research plans
  • Experience working closely with Product Design, Product Management, and Engineering in a fast-moving product development environment
  • Ability to synthesize qualitative findings into clear themes, implications, and prioritized recommendations
  • Strong communication and storytelling skills for cross-functional audiences
  • Comfort researching experiences involving sensitive information, trust, consent, health data, or behavior change
  • Experience evaluating comprehension, language clarity, and usability across different user confidence levels
  • Familiarity with UX Research Testing tools such as Figma, Jira, Confluence, Maze, Zoom, or similar platforms
  • Ability to balance rigor with speed and choose the right research approach for the decision at hand

Nice To Haves:

  • Experience researching with older adults, patients, caregivers, or people managing cognitive or neurological concerns
  • Experience in digital health, clinical research, or health system environments
  • Familiarity with accessibility research, health literacy, or plain-language evaluation
  • Experience researching complex, multi-step product journeys
  • Experience combining qualitative insights with engagement metrics or behavioral product data
  • Exposure to behavioral science, habit formation, nudging, adherence, or personalized health interventions
  • Thoughtful use of AI tools to support research planning, synthesis, or documentation, with appropriate attention to privacy and compliance
