About The Role

The Conflicts group reports to Legal and the process involves 24-7 coverage for the FTI’s world-wide business.  The Conflicts Analyst will need to possess exceptional written and verbal communication skills as this role requires frequent discussions with administrative and client-facing professionals and business personnel at all levels to gather and clarify information and engage in sensitive communications regarding legal and business issues.

What You’ll Do

The Senior Conflicts Analyst is responsible for:

  • Working as a collaborative team member as part of the Conflicts group, under the direction of the Manager of Conflicts

  • Reviewing new business opportunities for the company on an expedited basis to ensure a timely response to company professionals and their clients, in order to determine if a new engagement can be accepted

  • Handling clearances for a defined portfolio as well as clearances outside of an assigned queue segment where necessary to manage volume and urgent requests

  • Conducting a timely and accurate review of potential conflict concerns and related new business issues (including legal, relationship and reputational risks)

  • Verifying completeness and accuracy of new engagement descriptions, applying an analytical approach to identify and spot new issues and concerns, and escalating those matters to the leadership of the Conflicts team and Company professionals where appropriate

  • Applying company conflict policies and procedures as guiding principles in evaluating, tracking and maintaining records of potential issues with new business opportunities

  • Communicate timely conflict analysis summaries to internal teams, provide clear and accurate information for client consideration, and facilitate resolution of legal and business issues

  • Leveraging internal and external databases and other resources to conduct research, such as to obtain information on the nature of an entity or individual’s role in a particular matter, and identifying relevant corporate affiliations

  • Ensuring confidentiality and non-disclosure of information involved in the conflicts review process (this is vital and a core part of our commitment to professionalism and trust)

  • Developing an understanding of the company’s expert and business consulting services, and the nature and complexity of company professionals’  work on behalf of clients, in order to best navigate complex business relationships and new business conflict and relationship analysis
