Abacus Insights

Digital Health & Health Tech

Every time a person visits a doctor or hospital, a surge of data is created. That data is the lifeblood that has the power to deliver insights and the promise to transform our healthcare experience. But today, these data are stuck in old systems and are hard to share, making it difficult to give patients the best possible care and experience they deserve. This creates a frustrating reality for patients who are looking for answers to basic questions: Do I need to see a doctor? If so, which doctor should I see? How much will this cost me? Abacus’ mission is to improve people’s lives by breaking down these silos and liberating healthcare data to make real impact. Abacus believes this is achievable today because of two recent fundamental and unprecedented shifts: the digitization of healthcare data and the advent of cloud computing have given us the ability to securely bring vast amounts of data together to produce powerful insights. We are a fast-growing, values-driven team that cares deeply about improving the healthcare experience. If you like using innovative technologies to solve complex problems and build products from the ground up. Check out our job openings at www.abacusinsights.com/careers/

About the Role

Abacus Insights has deep expertise and a growing set of products, but that expertise doesn't yet show up in market. We're looking for a Content Manager to change that: to build the content engine that turns what our Subject Matter Experts know into the blogs, white papers, and thought leadership that get Abacus found, believed, and remembered.

As a key individual contributor, this role owns content strategy and execution end to end, from planning the editorial calendar to writing and editing the final piece. You'll run a repeatable production cadence with SMEs across the company, translating their expertise into original points of view, and you'll be the copy editor who makes sure everything Abacus puts into the world is sharp and consistent.

You'll also build the competitive intelligence that sharpens our messaging, and you'll work in close partnership with Product Marketing, Growth Marketing and Sales Enablement to keep content, campaigns, and sales materials speaking with one voice.

If you love turning technical expertise into compelling stories and want to build a content function from the ground up, this role is for you.

Your day to day

Content Strategy & Planning

  • Develop and maintain an integrated editorial calendar, built around monthly content pillars aligned to priority solution areas, product launches, and business priorities.
  • Run the content production cadence: intake the SME's first draft, develop it into finished content, and deliver it in a timely manner.
  • Identify content gaps across the buyer journey and recommend new assets to support marketing objectives.
  • Manage content production timelines and coordinate deliverables across internal stakeholders.

Content Development

  • Develop content that establishes Abacus's point of view on priority solution areas.
  • Turn content briefs into blog posts, articles, white papers, and SEO-optimized content.
  • Develop and manage additional content including website copy, eBooks, executive thought leadership, and video and webinar scripts.

Copy Editing

  • Serve as copy editor across Marketing content projects, ensuring brand voice, clarity, grammar, and consistency.
  • Proof and suggest edits on materials such as battlecards, decks, and sell sheets.

Competitive Intelligence

  • Research competitor activity, market trends, and emerging industry topics.
  • Develop and maintain competitive intelligence briefs to inform messaging, positioning, and content direction.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Product Marketing to translate positioning, messaging, competitive insights, and product strategy into customer-facing content.
  • Collaborate with Growth Marketing on campaign content and editorial calendar alignment.
  • Partner with Sales Enablement on proofing and message consistency across sales-facing materials.
  • Interview subject matter experts and translate complex technical concepts into clear, compelling business value.
  • Coordinate with Product Management to ensure product accuracy while maintaining customer-centric messaging.

Content Governance

  • Maintain editorial standards, brand voice, messaging consistency, and content quality.
  • Manage content review and approval workflows across Product, Marketing, Sales, and executive stakeholders.
  • Ensure content remains current by conducting regular audits and updating assets as products and markets evolve.
  • Maintain operational trackers, including content delivery and editorial calendar status.

Content Performance

  • Monitor content engagement and performance metrics.
  • Use analytics to identify optimization opportunities.
  • Recommend content improvements based on customer feedback, sales insights, competitive intelligence, and campaign performance.
  • Support SEO and AEO best practices

AI & Content Operations

  • Leverage AI tools to improve content development efficiency while maintaining editorial quality and brand standards.
  • Establish repeatable content creation workflows and templates.
  • Identify opportunities to scale content production through automation and process improvements.

What you bring to the team

  • Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Communications, Journalism, English, or related field.
  • Minimum 5 years of experience in B2B content marketing or content strategy.
  • Experience working in fast-growing, cross-functional teams, particularly mission-driven or healthcare-related companies.
  • Strong writing and editing skills, with a portfolio that shows both creativity and clarity.
  • Experience in healthcare technology, SaaS, healthcare data, or enterprise software.
  • Experience translating complex technical concepts into business-focused messaging.
  • Demonstrated ability to craft thoughtful, strategic content across a variety of formats, including digital channels.
  • Comfort working in ambiguity, rolling up your sleeves, and managing content end to end.
  • Strong project management and organizational skills.
  • Experience managing multiple concurrent projects with competing priorities.

What we would like to see, but not required

  • Experience supporting product launches.
  • Familiarity with sales enablement content.
  • Experience working within regulated or highly technical industries.
  • Familiarity with SEO best practices and content performance analytics.
  • Experience with AI-assisted content creation tools.

Compensation: Compensation for this role is based on experience, skills, and location, and includes base salary plus eligibility for performance bonuses and equity grants.

What you’ll get in return

  • Unlimited paid time off – recharge when you need it

  • Comprehensive health coverage – multiple plan options to choose from
  • Equity for every employee – share in our success
  • Growth-focused environment – your development matters here
