Job description

Position Overview

The Technical Operations Specialist plays a critical role in PartnerCentric's Technical Operations team by leading client onboarding, tracking implementations, integrations, and technical support with accuracy, efficiency, and a client-first mindset. This role is responsible for ensuring affiliate tracking and analytics implementations are executed correctly, troubleshooting complex technical issues, and partnering across teams to deliver exceptional client experiences.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, technically curious, and experienced in affiliate or performance marketing technologies. You'll work across affiliate platforms, analytics tools, and tracking technologies to ensure seamless integrations while driving operational excellence and continuous process improvement.

This is a remote position, but candidates must reside and physically perform the work within the United States due to legal and corporate tax compliance constraints. We are only considering applicants who possess unrestricted, independent work authorization that does not now, or in the future, require employer sponsorship.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Support & Issue Resolution

  • Respond to technical support inquiries and tickets within established SLAs, ensuring timely communication and professional client interactions.
  • Independently troubleshoot integration, tracking, and attribution issues across affiliate platforms including Impact, Partnerize, CJ, ShareASale, and other performance marketing technologies.
  • Diagnose discrepancies in tracking, reporting, and data accuracy while identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
  • Document issues, resolutions, and preventative recommendations to strengthen team knowledge and improve operational efficiency.
  • Escalate complex issues when appropriate while serving as the primary owner through resolution.

Client Integrations & Technical Implementations

  • Lead technical onboarding activities for new clients, including affiliate tracking implementations, pixel deployments, server-to-server/postback integrations, and quality assurance.
  • Configure, validate, and troubleshoot integrations involving Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Google Tag Manager (GTM), affiliate platforms, and marketing technologies.
  • Perform comprehensive QA on tracking implementations, product feeds, and conversion validation before client launch.
  • Execute end-to-end testing to ensure accurate click, conversion, and attribution tracking across platforms.
  • Partner with internal teams and client stakeholders to ensure successful technical implementations.

Documentation & Operational Excellence

  • Maintain accurate technical documentation, SOPs, implementation guides, and client configuration records.
  • Develop documentation for recurring issues and recommended best practices to improve team efficiency.
  • Identify opportunities to automate or streamline technical workflows and contribute to process improvements.
  • Stay current on changes across affiliate platforms, analytics tools, browser privacy updates, and industry best practices.

Cross-Functional Collaboration

  • Partner with Client Services, Sales, Account Management, and Product teams to ensure technical deliverables support client objectives.
  • Provide technical guidance during client onboarding, launches, and ongoing program optimization.
  • Support internal training initiatives by sharing technical knowledge and implementation best practices.
  • Collaborate with senior technical team members on complex integrations and emerging technologies.

Role Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Marketing, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience.
  • 2–4 years of experience in technical operations, marketing technology, implementation support, or digital marketing operations.
  • Hands-on experience working with affiliate or performance marketing networks such as Impact, Partnerize, CJ, Awin, Rakuten Advertising, ShareASale, or similar platforms.
  • Experience implementing and troubleshooting affiliate tracking technologies, conversion pixels, postbacks/server-to-server tracking, and attribution solutions.
  • Working knowledge of Google Analytics 4 (GA4), Google Tag Manager (GTM), and web analytics.
  • Basic understanding of APIs, HTML, JavaScript, browser developer tools, and web technologies used for troubleshooting.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to investigate technical issues independently.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with a client-focused approach.
  • Highly organized, responsive, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.

A Week in the Life

Monday: Review open technical tickets, prioritize client requests, troubleshoot tracking discrepancies, and coordinate with Client Services on implementation timelines.

Tuesday: Complete a new affiliate tracking implementation in Impact, validate conversion data in GA4, and perform end-to-end QA before launch.

Wednesday: Lead technical onboarding for a new client, configure partner integrations, and verify postback tracking across multiple platforms.

Thursday: Document a newly identified technical issue, update implementation SOPs, and collaborate with teammates on process improvements.

Friday: Review weekly implementation metrics, close outstanding tickets, identify recurring trends, and recommend workflow improvements that enhance efficiency and client satisfaction.

Benefits & Perks

  • Competitive salary with performance-based reviews and career growth opportunities.
  • Comprehensive health, dental, and vision insurance.
  • 401(k) with employer match.
  • Flexible remote work with a collaborative, supportive team culture.
  • Professional development stipend and ongoing learning opportunities.
