We are seeking an Unclaimed Property Consulting Senior Associate to join our team.   Preference will be given to candidates who live within distance to either our Nashville, Indianapolis or Denver offices but we are open to Remote for the right candidate.

Our unclaimed property practice is a proven leader in the industry, with a full suite of services that include audit defense, voluntary disclosures, risk assessments, annual compliance outsourcing, search and location, and asset recovery. Our Unclaimed Property consulting team focuses on audit defense, voluntary disclosure agreements (VDAs), and detailed risk assessments designed to bring holders into full compliance with state reporting obligations. We work closely with clients to identify historical gaps, remediate exposures, and implement practical, long‑term processes to ensure ongoing compliance. With our collaborative, team-based approach, we are able to apply the right blend of skills to each unique customer engagement. Whether a customer needs to complement an in-house unclaimed property team or outsource all of their unclaimed property responsibilities, we apply the appropriate level of services for each of our customer. 

Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Assist companies with multi-state unclaimed property matters including assessments, audit defense, or voluntary disclosure agreement process;
  • Prepare companies for examination(s) by describing forthcoming requests and knowledge of the process;
  • Represent clients on auditor discussions regarding the current status of the examination and responses to information document requests;
  • Tracking client requests and submissions and assisting with record review (i.e. tax documents, accounting records, policies and procedures, etc.);
  • Performing data analysis to identify potential unclaimed property risks;
  • Developing and presenting the client with strategies to mitigate potential unclaimed property exposure;
  • Aiding in drafting final deliverables and reports for client and state submission;
  • Willing to travel up to 30%.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years of unclaimed property professional expertise (prior consulting experience preferred);
  • High-quality verbal and written communication skills;
  • Consistently produce high-quality, professional deliverables on schedule and budget;
  • Self-motivated individual that possesses excellent time management and organizational skills;
  • Demonstrate an understanding of complex unclaimed property concepts;
  • Proven experience related to unclaimed property consulting engagements including audit defense, voluntary disclosure agreement programs, policy and procedures, or other similar services;
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office products, particularly Excel;
  • Able to adapt to new environments, work effectively in varied situations and function in changing circumstances with minimum confusion or loss of productivity;
  • BA/BS with a concentration in accounting, business administration, finance, engineering, or information systems (or similar degrees).
