About Job

Job Description: Hardware PC Technician/Field Support Engineer

Location: Las Vegas, NV
Overview

We are looking for a hands-on Hardware PC Technician / Field Support Engineer based in Las Vegas, NV to support our hardware operations and data collection initiatives. This role is central to building out our new Las Vegas staging warehouse and helping the data collection team scale from ad-hoc, project-by-project support into a long-term, sustainable operation. We're looking for someone who is comfortable operating with ambiguity, can define processes and criteria where none currently exist, and is ready to take ownership and lead as the team and site grow.

Key Responsibilities

  • Build, configure, and troubleshoot desktop PCs, workstations, and peripheral hardware for data collection and AI research projects
  • Set up and maintain hardware environments including monitors, cameras, sensors, and recording equipment for on-site data collection activities
  • Perform hardware diagnostics, repairs, upgrades, and replacements as needed
  • Image and deploy systems using standard OS and software configurations
  • Support equipment logistics — packing, shipping, tracking, and inventory management across Las Vegas & Redmond locations
  • Play a lead role in standing up and organizing the new Las Vegas staging warehouse, establishing workflows, layout, and inventory practices from the ground up
  • Define and document criteria, standards, and procedures in situations where no prior documentation or precedent exists
  • Manage and prioritize work across multiple concurrent projects, adapting quickly as priorities and timelines shift
  • Help the data collection team move from reactive, one-off support toward scalable, sustainable long-term operations
  • Collaborate with IT, engineering, and project teams to ensure hardware readiness ahead of project timelines
  • Document hardware configurations, asset tracking, and maintenance logs accurately
  • Provide informal leadership and mentorship to other technicians or contractors as the team grows, setting the tone for quality and consistency
  • Escalate complex technical issues to senior engineers when necessary

Required Qualifications

  • 2+ years of hands-on experience in hardware PC building, configuration, and troubleshooting
  • Strong knowledge of PC components — CPUs, GPUs, RAM, storage, motherboards, power supplies, and peripherals
  • Experience with OS imaging and deployment (Windows 10/11, basic Linux)
  • Comfortable working with cables, racks, and physical hardware setups in lab or office environments
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured setup and configuration procedures
  • Demonstrated self-starter mentality — able to identify what needs to be done and take initiative without waiting for direction
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguous situations, and able to define processes, criteria, and standards when no previous documentation exists
  • Adaptable and flexible, able to pivot quickly as priorities, projects, or requirements change
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously without losing track of details or deadlines
  • Some leadership experience or aptitude — able to guide others, set expectations, and drive consistency across a growing team
  • Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working independently with minimal supervision
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation in the Las Vegas area

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience supporting AI, data collection, or research lab environments
  • Strong interest in current AI trends & vibe-coding/agentic mindset
  • Familiarity with GPU workstations (NVIDIA hardware — RTX, A-series)
  • CompTIA A+ or equivalent hardware certification
  • Experience with asset management systems and IT ticketing tools
  • Prior experience working in a fast-paced tech or startup environment
  • Experience helping stand up a new site, warehouse, or operation from scratch

Travel Requirements

  • Primary location: Las Vegas, NV

Salary: $70K Annually
