Job description

This is a remote position.

Location: [Remote / Hybrid / City]

Reports To: CFO/ Board of Directors / BCW Group Leadership

Industry: Web3, Blockchain Infrastructure, FinTech

Company Overview

stakeFi is the institutional-grade infrastructure layer for the digital asset economy, dedicated to providing secure validator services and staking/yield optimization for the world’s leading corporations and financial institutions.

We service top-tier enterprise clients with staking services across 35+ protocols.

The Role

stakeFi is seeking a visionary and battle-hardened Finance Lead to help build a scalable finance department and will report directly to the CFO and the Board of Directors. The Finance Lead will be responsible for the absolute precision of stakeFi’s multi-currency financial engine. This role sits at the intersection of traditional institutional financial accounting and the decentralized Web3 ecosystem. You will command our day-to-day accounting, financial reporting, token/treasury management, and foreign exchange (FX) strategies to ensure optimal capital efficiency and ironclad regulatory compliance.

Core Responsibilities

Financial Leadership & Board Reporting

  • Manage, optimize, and execute all day-to-day corporate finance and accounting operations.

  • Knowledge of ASC 606 / IFRS 15 Revenue Recognition Frameworks. Enhance and own the point-of-receipt valuation engine and pricing methodologies (e.g. VWAP) in order to service client needs and internal requirements (able to separate core staking operating income & capital gains).

  • Understand the different reward components (Execution vs. Consensus Layer) for major networks. Able to measure, track, and report these components for internal and external reporting.

  • Revenue attribution analysis of core network reward components and the ability to identify and explain key drivers in staking revenue into distinct, quantifiable buckets.

  • Manage the companies slashing & impairment provisioning, ensuring protocol penalties or node downtime are correctly classified.

  • Prepare audit-ready, multi-token financial statements, integrating modern FASB fair-value adjustment rules for digital asset holdings..

  • Formulate precise, data-driven financial packets, treasury summaries, and forecasting models for direct presentation to the CFO and the Board of Directors.

  • Define and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs)

  • Conduct cost-benefit analyses across diverse infrastructure architectures and hosting configurations to maximize capital efficiency and optimize gross margins.

  • Collaborate with external auditors and legal counsel to maintain strict regulatory compliance across international entities.

Web3 Treasury & Protocol Asset Management

  • Oversee cryptographic treasury management, tracking validator rewards, staking yields, and gas/network transaction costs across 35+ supported protocols.

  • Manage the capital allocation strategy for multi-token reward inventories, optimising treasury yield while minimising cross-border friction, slippage, and taxable events.

  • Continue to enhance our financial reporting systems capabilities for reconciling traditional fiat accounts with complex, on-chain smart contract transactions and digital asset wallets.

  • Understand staking components (stake, delegation, rewards, commissions) and sub-ledger accounting.

  • Implement zero-trust security frameworks for corporate wallets, treasury transfers, and institutional yield-generation strategies.

Foreign Exchange (FX) & Hedging Strategy

  • Manage corporate liquidity profiles across multiple global fiat currencies (USD, EUR, etc.) and major digital assets.

  • Design and execute risk-mitigation and hedging strategies to neutralise exposure to digital asset volatility and cross-border fiat FX fluctuations.

  • Optimize cross-border treasury movements, minimising friction and slippage when converting protocol staking rewards into corporate operating capital.

Technical Leadership

  • Team Scaling: Grow and retain junior talent in the team to ensure the scaling of the finance function

  • Technical Roadmap: Translate the CFO’s vision into a realistic, high-velocity development roadmap that can handle the scaling business platform.

Requirements

Candidate Profile & Qualifications

  • Experience: 5+ years of progressive finance experience, ideally as a Finance Manager, Controller, or Senior Financial Analyst in FinTech, algorithmic trading, or institutional Web3 infrastructure.

  • Web3 Expertise: Deep operational knowledge of the digital asset economy. You must understand proof-of-stake (PoS) consensus mechanics, validator economics, gas management, on-chain analytics, and decentralised finance (DeFi) yield optimization.

  • Web3 Accounting Standards: Comprehensive familiarity with emerging digital asset regulatory frameworks, e.g. ASU 2023-08 (FASB Fair Value measurement rules) and crypto-specific revenue recognition triggers (un-bonding lockup deferrals, contract asset classification, etc).

  • Granular Multi-Token Reconciliation Experience: Proven capability managing high-velocity data environments where revenue is earned continuously across highly volatile, differentiated token ecosystems (ETH, SOL, and various re-staking AVS tokens).

  • FX Proficiency: Proven track record in foreign exchange (FX) management and multi-currency accounting. Knowledge/experience working with corporate treasury hedging is a plus.

  • Communication: Exceptional executive presence. You must possess the clarity and professional candour required to summarise complex cross-currency or programmatic financial structures to the CFO and Board members.

  • Systems Mindset: Experience implementing or scaling modern ERP software (e.g., NetSuite) alongside digital asset sub-ledgers and crypto reconciliation tools (e.g., TaxBit).
