Job description

Job Title:

QC Due Diligence Senior Underwriter

Location:

Remote - CA (Southern)

What you'll do:

As a Senior Quality Control Underwriter you'll be responsible for auditing Fannie Mae, Freddie Mac, FHA, VA, USDA, and Non-Agency loans by reviewing credit, capacity, compliance, and collateral characteristics of the loan file to ensure they meet investor quality standards.
  • Perform a pre-funding quality control review of loans from the Retail and Correspondent divisions. Participate in the remediation of identified defects with Operations and Correspondent Sellers.
  • Monitor the progress of implementation of action plans based on quality control findings and results. Communicate identified defects effectively to internal and external counterparties.
  • Assist in developing QC audit and project plans. Monitor QC project pipelines and analyze reports to ensure deadlines are met.
  • Analyze various reports and data to identify patterns of deficiencies and opportunities for improvement. Act as a resource and subject matter expert for questions regarding Quality Control.

What you'll need:

  • 6+ years of related experience in Underwriting Review, Mortgage Quality Control or similar field.
  • High school diploma required; Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience preferred.
  • Advanced knowledge of residential mortgage industry in Correspondent or Retail Lending, including sales, operations, capital markets and/or other residential mortgage products and services.
  • Advanced knowledge of applicable regulatory and legal compliance obligations, rules and regulations, industry standards and practices.
  • Advanced knowledge of FNMA, FHLMC, FHA and VA guidelines and Federal regulatory guidelines and procedures.
  • Advanced TRID knowledge.
  • Basic knowledge of fraud detection.
  • Advanced speaking and writing communication skills.
