Job description

Learfield is seeking a talented and engaging part-time Anchor-Reporter for our News Division. Anchor-reporters are the on-air voices of the network, as well as the content providers of written stories, audio and newscasts for affiliate clients for statewide radio networks.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Cover breaking news events of importance to a statewide audience, either in person or through phone interviews. This includes developing sources and conducting interviews with state and national leaders, public officials, and other newsmakers.

  • Produce, write, and anchor hourly radio newscasts, ensuring accurate, timely, and engaging delivery of news and information.

  • Research, write, edit, and publish news stories across multiple digital platforms, including websites and social media channels.

Job Specifications/Requirements:

  • Formal training or demonstrated experience in on-air broadcasting.

  • 5 years of experience working in a radio or television station, network, or comparable news organization.

  • Proficiency with current digital audio editing and production tools.

  • Experience operating radio studio equipment and managing studio operations.

  • Experience with audio field production, including both live and recorded broadcasts.

  • Strong college-level writing, editing, and communication skills.

  • Knowledge of government, public affairs, and/or sports systems and processes.

  • Bachelor’s degree or technical college degree in journalism, communications, broadcasting, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.

The national base pay for this position is $20.00 per hour. Please note that this is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Individuals may also be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and/or sales compensation based on individual and company performance. Placement on the range may vary based on factors including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and geographic location.The pay rate will comply with all minimum federal, state, and local wage/salary requirements.
