Key Responsibilities:
Cover breaking news events of importance to a statewide audience, either in person or through phone interviews. This includes developing sources and conducting interviews with state and national leaders, public officials, and other newsmakers.
Produce, write, and anchor hourly radio newscasts, ensuring accurate, timely, and engaging delivery of news and information.
Research, write, edit, and publish news stories across multiple digital platforms, including websites and social media channels.
Job Specifications/Requirements:
Formal training or demonstrated experience in on-air broadcasting.
5 years of experience working in a radio or television station, network, or comparable news organization.
Proficiency with current digital audio editing and production tools.
Experience operating radio studio equipment and managing studio operations.
Experience with audio field production, including both live and recorded broadcasts.
Strong college-level writing, editing, and communication skills.
Knowledge of government, public affairs, and/or sports systems and processes.
Bachelor’s degree or technical college degree in journalism, communications, broadcasting, or a related field, or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
The national base pay for this position is $20.00 per hour. Please note that this is a good faith estimate for the position at the time of posting. Individuals may also be eligible for an annual discretionary bonus and/or sales compensation based on individual and company performance. Placement on the range may vary based on factors including but not limited to job-related knowledge, skills, and experience, and geographic location.The pay rate will comply with all minimum federal, state, and local wage/salary requirements.
